Landscape Rock & Pebble

Landscape rock is a great material for small projects. Also known as gravel, decorative rock (or deco gravel) is created by crushing large stones. Crushed rock has angular surfaces that help it lock into place. It ranges in size from 3/8” to 12+” in diameter. Pebbles, however, are usually round and smooth. Both types of decorative rocks have many uses. They are used to fill the top of potted plants. They are great for water-wise landscaping as ground cover. Decorative rock also works well as a natural stone in aquariums or ponds. Low-cost and easy installation make it a good choice to cover your large or small areas.

Ideal for Drought Resistant Gardens

Make your water-wise landscaping easy with landscape rock. By putting down our 20-year weed barrier and then covering the ground with landscape rock, you can ensure your garden stays exactly the way you designed it for decades!

This will be my 2nd attempt on extremely shady quality issues, since my first review wasn't approved (even though it said nothing but the truth). Lets just say the majority of people that want California Gold know what it's supposed to look like whether its wet or dry. That's why I specifically wanted this to use as a cactus top dressing (pic1). Your bag will look like the rock you wanted....until you sift & wash it off! You will see numerous reviews commenting on the extreme amount of powder that is included in the bags, that's because powder is included to blend in the rock that's not supposed to be there and make everything look the same. I was shorted almost 5lbs due to my bag containing over 3lbs of rocks that ARE NOT in California gold and over a pound pure of powder....not rock chips from being stored in a bag, we're talking pure powder! Now it comes to light why that powder everyone gets is included in those bags. If it wasn't in there, the rock wouldn't all look the same. That's just not acceptable, not good for business, and extremely shady! Pictures speak for themselves. Read those product reviews before you made a decision you might regret! Get your rock locally where you can see it in person, or from someone that values quality!

I got this rock for a decorative pebble tray to put my small pots of succulents on top -- the tray was a wood tone, so I thought that the Sedona red color would be nice. However, that's not really what this is -- the stone is a mix of brown, gray, black, and white stone covered with a mess of red dust. Beyond that, there are substantial pieces mixed with very small ones, and I ended up having to sort them out for my purposes (while sending cups of stone dust down my outdoor drain). This might be quite pretty as an outdoor bed finish --- it has a bit of a wood chip look. But it's totally not what I was expecting from the listing! The first picture shows the mess of stone and dust in the opened bag; the second shows how the washed and dried stones compare to the color of those in the bag (and what I thought I was getting); and the third shows the complete non-uniformity of sizes (of wet rocks), which vary by 3-4x! Maybe some of this was an outcome of grinding together during shipping, but it's hard to see how any of these look like any of the listing shots!

I ordered this product to mix my own soil for cactus and succulents in large planters. The pieces are a bit larger than "3/8" size in description. This pebble/rock mix is composed of rough-cut pieces - more rocks than pebbles -which is not a problem for the plantings I have in mind. The price is high for the quantity available; however, I can no longer lug larger bags of gravel/sand mixture I used to purchase at big box home improvement store, so I am just glad to be able to purchase as needed for my planting needs. Color is as described by vendor.

Ended up finding this cheaper locally so returned the bag i ordered on amazon, but it’s a great product that I’m still happy enough to take the time to reviewUsed these rocks as a top dressing for my 3’ x 5’ succulent tapestry garden project. I ordered this in 3/8” in the 20lbs Cali gold- what i bought locally was the same but a 75lbs bag- which i used about half of to cover most of the space pictured at about 1” depth. Rocks were fairly uniform in size, and there didn’t seem to be much dust in the bag. I’m so happy with the soft gold color and size. The other rock used in my photos is the 3/8” Patagonia which is also lovely. These 20lbs bags would be great for a smaller project and i absolutely recommend these- a great, quality product

I was looking for smooth, small stones for my lavender garden. I just couldn’t find the right color set my local garden center. These are perfect. Very even in size, complement my existing stones well. They are smooth and look terrific. When I need more, this will be my source.

Yeah, you read that right. In my search for things like Turface MVP, scoria, diatamaceous earth, Dry Stall pumice, full strand sphagnum moss, pine bark, and of course crushed granite, I found this stuff. It's my new favorite. The green seemed silly at first, but I kept thinking about it. I keep thinking about it like I think of that cute girl across the hall... I couldn't stop thinking about it! I just had to have it! What can I say? I'm in love with green crushed granite ~ 3/8 inch, baby. For real though, this stuff is great. Nobody else in town is gonna have this sweet green crushed granite in their bonsai pot. It really is 3/8 inch, so it's an angel's hair bigger than I prefer. I can potentially sift out some 1/4 - 5-16" for a smaller tree, or crush it a little more for something a bit finer. I think I will pot up my Grey Owl Juniper with this, black scoria and some larger pine bark. The product you receive looks exactly like the picture. There is an overall Baja Blast greenness to this granite, but there's definitely more going on than green, if you care for the detailed side of my review. Included also are some nice iron oxide/burnt sienna, oxblood/bone marrow, bone whites/bone greys, and hints of tan on some of the greens. Thanks for the free shipping Southwest Boulder. I live half a continent away, and I just can't get rock like this around here. I'll be back for more!7/28/19 Update: About 50% passes through a 1/4" screen, and 0% through a 2mm screen, which is a good thing for me. I get 10lbs of 3-6mm rock, and 10lbs of 7-10mm!

We ordered this landscape pebble to supplement that already in the back courtyard of our town house in Green Valley, AZ. It was easy to spread and blended well with the color. it also blunted the edges of existing rocks and created a more comfortable and effective yard for our two dogs. It may seem an odd thing to order from Amazon, but we couldn't find anything locally, and Amazon didn't seem to mind!
