No way a 12 hour burn, more like 1 hour. It works but you'll need to keep adding wood chips.

For smokes long or short.Used wood, course, light with a torch. Last 4 to 12 hours depending on how much wood you put in it.Could use pellets, I like wood.

Once it hits the turn it reignites the flame and burns everything within minutes. I’d buy 4 tubes over this

This is a well-made, well thought out pellet smoker tray. Before getting into what I like about it specifically, I'd like to describe what I'm now using and it's drawbacks. For years I have been using a 12 in stainless metal tube that I fill with pellets, light at one end and it burns completely for three plus hours. This is fine except for situations I have encounted a number of times.I don't always want 3 plus hours of smoke. I want to put something on for a couple hours of decent smoke, wrap and finish it in a low temp oven. It is quite difficult to light a partially filled tube. Not so here. I also have wanted to experiment more with adding wood chips during the pellet smoke. This solves the problem. I can fill it part way and easily light it from the top with a blowtorch, I can fill it all the way light it from the end with a blowtorch and it will burn many many hours. This is a much more variable situation than a 100% filled pellet tube. The other thing I like about this and wanted to point out is the walls between the various channels inside are double thickness. One of the problems I have heard about with this type of smoker is that over-filled or single thickness walls can allow the burning pellet fire to jump the wall.I am really looking to use this at specific times when I really need to do certain number of hours of smoking and adding wood chips and then finish elsewhere. This is a must-have for me.
