These cans are made of steel tin-plate, not aluminum, which has been shown to have some minor degree of health hazards. The steel tin-plate is 0.24mm thick and is food grade. Basic cleaning is recommended before first use. The diameter is 2 5/8 inches (2.63 inches, 66.7mm) and the depth is 3/4 inches (0.75 inches, 19.1mm). Each can weighs only 0.8 oz. The storage volume is 2 fl oz, or 60 ml. No plastic liner inside the tin can. The tin can is not water tight so it is expected to leak with fluid inside. Storing cream and ointment that are not fully liquid may still work, but please be aware of possible leakage.

I was trying to open about 6 of them and only could get 2 open. Hoping that is not going to be my luck through the rest of them. I like how sturdy they are and the fact they are stainless steel instead of aluminum. I try my best to limit my exposure to aluminum. But the ability to open them is important too.

I have used and loved these tins until my last order, (which I’ve had replaced twice now thinking maybe it was just a bad batch.)The lids of the last two orders are almost impossible to get off and nearly impossible to thread back on.The height of the tins have also changed, I’m assuming it has to do with the lids not fitting properly. Something has happened at the manufacturer that is not good. I will be looking elsewhere for my salve tins moving forward, which is really sad because I used to love these.

It is so nice to have a company make these out of steel. Aluminum is a growing problem and these are the solution. I also love that the lids screw on because that helps them to be easy on and off. Excellent product!!!

I purchased these because I made a deodorant and wanted my friends and family to try it. I initially had a larger container and felt that I needed a smaller container. With this size, I don't feel bad if the recipient doesn't use it. It's small enough that it's not wasteful of my product but large enough for them to get months of use out of the product. IT'S ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY!!! That was and still is a very big deal to me. They come with self-adhesive labels that fit the circular top or bottom. (not sure if there are enough labels for top AND bottom). They do not have the padded unit in the lid which helps deter leaks. If you used this for lip balm it would be a family sized can of lip balm. "I" think its pretty big for lip balm. Do not buy these for candles as there is not enough depth. The cans are made of aluminum and have a screw top and a smooth bottom. The only ridges are around the top of the can and the lid of the can.

Nice weight tins; sturdy metal without being heavy, but solid enough it's not going to dent in your hands or bag. Will definitely be buying again (already have, in fact).Nicely packaged in a box with a divider between the two rows to keep them from scratching each other and banging around, though I would take off a half star if possible, because they were all individually packaged in plastic bags inside the box, which just adds a lot more non-biodegradable trash to the trash stream. A better way to separate them would be small squares of paperboard, which can at least be recycled or composted.

Great size. Easy to screw/unscrew lid on and off. Appears to be somewhat waterproof from a rain shower. Fairly sturdy tops and bottoms.
