Although I have a generic brand of Burkee water filter, it fits and preforms well! Easy to install. No leaks.

My folks have a Berkey, We had a Berkey, but My kid took it to Florida after the hurricane, and I don't think she intends to bring it back.I did not want to buy another expensive filter, and decided to try one of the $69 ones, as they are the same size, and use the same filters.Well? Everyone says that the spigot that comes with the filter is squirreley, but the tank is great! So I ordered this one on the recommendation of another couple I see when we Go camping. They were not kidding! This spigot is heavy duty, has the red ball, and feels substantial! It also comes with much better sealing gaskets.I'm going to feel much better about giving this unit to My wife for Christmas, knowing that it's not going to leak, or bend.It is Berkey Quality, but at a much more sensible price. If you need to replace yours, this one will not disappoint!

This sight glass meets or exceeds the original Berkey equipped sight glass. It arrived in 4 layers of protection, to ensure it arrives in mint condition. I could find nothing to criticize here. Is it polished stainless steel, or chrome plated cromoly, it's hard to tell. That might be the only thing to criticize here. Recommended.

I used this spigot on my Big Berkey stand-alone water filter. It fits it like a glove, is sturdy, and seems well-made. It is very convenient to see the water level. I put it in today, and my first impression is 5 stars.

This glass spigot has a few advantages compared to the Berkey unit. The handle is larger and stronger and the faucet part is metal. I also really like the red float in the glass tube making it much easier to tell the water level with a quick glance. At half the price of the genuine Berkey it would seem like a 5-star deal. But, the description says "The FACHIOO water level glass spigot is replacement for the Travel, Big, Royal, Imperial Berkey Water Filter System" and it is NOT. At just shy of 8", it can be used only with the Travel and Big sizes. If you try it with a larger unit (Royal and Imperial), a full tank will cause the spigot's glass tube to overflow with water coming out of its air hole at the top.So, if you have one of the smaller Berkey filters, it may be a good alternative. But first, check the size you need before ordering.

I have owned my Berkey water filter for over a decade and love it. This glass spigot is great for visualizing the water level. In the past, I have had to lift the top filter unit and peer into the basin or tilt the whole unit to guestimate the water level. The red ball in the glass tube is easy to see and looks great with the Berkey. Installation was simple and I used a wrench to tighten the nut on the inside. As this spigot protrudes out more than the stock spigot, there is a slight flex when dispensing water. The spigot itself has a much larger head than the stock spigot and is chrome as well. One downside that I have noticed is that water can drip out after dispensing which I attribute to the larger head size. Keep you cup/container under the spigot head for 1-2 seconds after closing the valve to prevent water getting on the floor/counter. I'm probably going to get a small rubber coaster to fit under the spigot to help catch unintended drips. Despite this drawback, I give the spigot 5 stars as I can visualize the water level and the chrome matches the Berkey unit better than the stock black plastic spigot.

This was pretty hard to tighten and why i had to knock off a star. I like this spigot though, it's more useful than the Berkey spigot. I like that you can see the water lever and a lot more water comes out at a time. I did over fill my Berkey and the water was pouring out of the spout.. otherwise just make sure you tighten all the way

I have the "BIg Berkey" gravity fed water filter. I ordered this site glass spigot to replace the original one I got with the unit which had gotten dropped and the glass tube inside the viewing cylinder had broken.I guess I didn't read the description on Amazon thoroughly and thought the entire unit was stainless steel. After going back and reviewing the listing more carefully I see it says "durable metal material" and on another page it says "304 stainless steel & durable'.I'll first discuss the Pros:- It does fit my Big Berkey although it's about two inches shorter than the original one I had. (My original one was 10in and this one is just under 8in)- The fittings and washers are all snug and there was no leaking- I was so excited about not having to guess the water level any moreNow the major Con:- It's made of two different metals. The viewing cylinder that houses the glass tube looks like it's stainless steel. The spigot and the outlet that attaches to the canister of the filter looks like it's chrome or some sort of plated metal. I actually wouldn't have even realized this except that when I first removed the packaging and looked into the outlet opening I could see rust residue. Then when I looked into the opening of the spigot (where the water comes out), again, rust residue. Stainless steel does not rust like that, so I went back to the description on Amazon and realized it says "durable metal material".It's really unfortunate because if a part was going to be some "other" metal, it should not be the part that comes in contact with the filtered water. In this spigot the part that appears to be stainless steel is the viewing tube which doesn't come in contact with the water. The patina of the viewing tube is a more matte patina and the spigot part that attaches to the filter and dispenses the water is shiny like chrome or plated metal.Unfortunately this is a deal breaker for me since the main reason I filter my water is because I have well water that has fairly high amounts of iron and other minerals in it. I'm not going to filter my water only to have it dispensed through a spigot that will rust or retain rust residue.I feel the description here is somewhat misleading although it does not say it's 100% stainless steel. I can't in good conscience recommend this product.
