It’s a well-made product, but it does not fit the hose on the shop vac. I waited too long to try it and it was too late to return it so now I’m stuck with something that I have no use for.

The product pulls air from small perforated holes in the top to spin a miniature generator to power the led. This has pros and cons; if you are actively putting resistance on the main inlet the light shines brighter, and if there’s no resistance it can dim or shut off at times. Tapping your hand over the end will usually jump it back to life.In use I have found the light is generally dependable and bright enough for use in dark crevices, so I appreciate the design enough to recommend it.I am using this with one of the larger and more powerful brand name ShopVac units so your mileage may vary depending on the power of your vacuum.

This shop vac nozzle with LED light has a genius design. When I got this I had to figure out how it worked. No place for batteries or power supply of any kind. This is just a genius design. Other than that it works as a vacuum nozzle too. I got this to help get in to tight places. If you have a shop vac you probably need this.

This attachment works excellent!!! The previous nozzle I owned worked with a battery to make the light work and it was a complete piece of junk! I would definitely recommend this to anyone that is serious about interior car cleaning.

Amazing that no one has come up with this before. Or it just wasn't well known. When the attached vacuum pulls air through this nozzle, some air is sucked through the little holes in red housing through the impeller. This spins a small generator which produces enough power to light up the two LEDs in the front. Since the air passed through the generator is not mixed with the debris that the nozzle is sucking up, the impeller and generator will stay relatively clean. Not a huge amount of light, but enough to illuminate the area being cleaned. Very helpful when cleaning cars. Especially trunks and footwells.
