Pan is awesome but didn't realize it was a unique diameter. 12 and 3/4" lid is impossible to find. Love the feel, non stick and surface so far.

This is a great egg pan! I would have given it 5 stars but the bottom of the pan is hard to keep clean and shiny. You definitely should not put it in the dishwasher as it turns black. I seldom put my skillets in the dishwasher, even though they say dishwasher safe, because it is hard on the nonstick surface. I was in a hurry and put it in. Took me forever to get the bottom somewhat shiny again. Thank goodness for Pink Stuff!

It's hard to imagine that all of these reviews are for the same product. My experience has been that the pan works flawlessly. I work with it on a high-BTU gas range and have mostly used it as an egg pan. It is remarkably non-stick. I use a tiny bit of oil for my eggs and they release perfectly, and the pan cleans out effortlessly with a sponge and warm water. Occasionally, I'll just wipe it out with a paper towel, and that works fine, too. I've been using the pan for a few months now and it remains in perfect condition.Pro tip: While you can purchase the $35 Scanpan glass lid to go with this pan, you'll find the 8" Farberware Cookware Glass Replacement Lid works perfectly with this pan and is only $9.February 15, 2015, Update: After a year of near-daily use, the pan is still performing perfectly and looks great.February 7, 2018, Update: After four years of constant use, this pan is still performing perfectly and looking great. Amazing value.

Having read all the positive reviews, I couldn't wait to get one these pans. I finally received it yesterday and promptly washed it per the directions and decided to try frying up some eggs. What a disappointment! I preheated the pan as instructed, but this pan doesn't even match the performance of my Emeril cookware. I wish I could post pictures of the eggs that are stuck to the bottom of my pan. The pan's non-stick surface appears to be working now that the pan is cooling because the cooked on food is starting to peel up and looks to be easy to wipe out. The pan appears to be very well constructed, but I will return to frying my eggs in a dab of butter and appreciate the non-stick coating for its effectiveness when it's time to wash the dishes.

I've had many frying pans over the years and this is definitely the best! It really is non-stick but lighter than my previous Gastrolux, which makes it easier to handle being 32cm. It washes easily and although it says it is dishwasher safe, I usually wash by hand.

I was introduced to this product in a high-end grocery store, whilst in Seattle. Upon my return home, I continued my search for a replacement non-stick omelet/fry pan on the web. When I read the fantastic reviews and the technical advantages this product claims, I placed an order. It was less expensive than the price in Seattle and I didn't have to bring it back in my luggage. Even though I was very careful with my previous teflon coated pans, they deteriorated over a few years of use. The first time I used my Scan(dinavian)pan, I was amazed at how non-stick the ceramic surface really is. In comparison, the eggs flipped so easily, I believe none of my Teflon coated pans worked so well, even when brand new.I recall a reviewer who complained about the rivet attachments for the handles being difficult to clean. If anything cooks onto the rivets, I simply use a soapy nylon brush designed for dishwashing, and every morsel comes off with ease. Even though this pan, unlike teflon, is dishwasher safe, I usually wash it by hand because I want it to be available when I need it. I have washed the pan in a dishwasher when it was time to run the washer. No problems after months of use. I find the ergonomically designed handle to be a pleasing design, as well. This pan gives a new definition of: "Danish-Modern Design".

I've had my scanpan pan for several years now. It is my daily breakfast pan allowing me to cook perfect eggs any style; especially my favorite, once over easy with perfect yolks. The pans heat evenly across the bottom. Maybe not as even as the best pans, but darn good for a lightweight breakfast pan.The nonstick surface can be worn down, but only so far. You will not get tattered teflon pieces wearing up from the bottom. My pan after years of use is still non-stick, just not as slick.Cons: OK, I didn't pay an arm and a leg for my pan, but the lip is straight all around. Nice and even, but everything dribbles down the side of the pan. When I transfer an omelet to someone's plate I must wipe the side of the pan before I put it back on the burner for the next omelet.I've never had any other non-stick pan last for more than a few months even using nylon utensils. The scanpan has lasted for years and I do not distinguish which utensil I reach for. The pan is non stick which allows me to use nylon or silicone utensils without fighting stuck pieces. I just prefer the control I get with a metal utensils that do not get floppy when hot.
