After Mini concluded many years of success in rally, Mini turned to a new horizon with the British Saloon Car Championship now known as the British Touring Car Championship. For the 1979 British Saloon Car Championship Alan Curnow entered this ex-Longman Mini 1275GT. Resplendent in Datapost livery the car proved to be a great contender in the smaller engine class of the championship that season, the forerunner to todays super popular BTCC.
