This cabinet looks nice. It was not difficult to assemble, and it took me about 3 hours total. However, it's not the most sturdy. Because of the weight of the piece, I moved the body of it before installing the drawers; the dowels popped out of the top and a side fell off, causing some damage to the bottom. Nothing that can be seen from the outside, and once in place with the drawers installed, I can't see it being a problem. For the price, I expected some more secure assembly. But this will do. I'll just make sure to be very careful if I need to move it again.

I have waited to write this review, as I wanted to know how the drawers would respond to daily use. So, I have been using the file cabinet now for couple of months now and love it. The drawers are approximately 1/2 full of material and they open and fully close as they did from the day my husband put it together. It opens and closes smoothly and soundlessly; I couldn't ask for anything more.This file cabinet was purchased to matches the desk of the same maker that I have. The main reason for my purchase was that I wanted to match my "beach" motif in my home office and it does with it being a light tan in color. It allows me to add other color tones around the desk & file cabinet while keeping with a ‘coastal theme’. The drawers of the file cabinet lined up perfectly once the cabinet was put together and close all the way. And you cannot open both drawers at once which I like.If there has to be a con, then it is that the file cabinet does not have a lock on it. Our solution to that con was to purchase a lock (YEYA Refrigerator Lock, Baby Proof Cabinet Locks with keys, Child Safety Locks for Cabinets 4 Pack from Amazon) and to attach to the drawer. Not the most aesthetically pleasing to the naked eye, but it gets the job done. Not having a lock is the is reason I only gave this product 4-stars.Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase.

Assembled in an afternoon. No issues with parts or finish. Modern look and feel on a budget price. Holds more files than expected. I purchased rubber feet for the legs so it wouldn't scratch our hard floor.

Description states the product is 46" wide which is the perfect size for the wall I was planning on placing it, yet the actual width is only 33 7/8" wide. That is more than a foot incorrect. The product dimensions are very important. If I ordered an 18 foot ladder and I received a 12 foot ladder, I would be upset. This product either sold out or has been discontinued. I also don't understand why the prices at Amazon fluctuate so drastically. Reg priced $230 sold at $57.97. It seems the reg prices are over exaggerated. I will update once I inspect the contents of the product. One of the other color choices for same item states: Frequently returned item! That scares me. I did not see that warning the day I ordered or else I would have not purchased.The contents were packaged well with tons of Styrofoam, yet many of the pieces were still damaged due to abusive shipping. The instructions tell you to call manufacturer for missing or damaged parts instead of returning to Amazon which is fine with me. If you register the product, you also get a 5 year extended warranty. It took some time to assemble and a few steps in the instructions were hard to understand. I do not like rods or metal brackets for hanging the file folders. all 4 of the rods were bent badly and not true. The gap between the upper and lower drawers are not even. Because of the holes drilled by the manufacturer, the gap cannot be corrected. I purchased a similar item at an office supply store and the assembly and design (especially for hanging the folders is much neater and more sturdy, not to mention better price. Overall, this is an okay 2 drawer file cabinet. If there had not been damaged veneer, damaged drawer sides and bent rods, I would have rated the product with 4 stars instead of 3. A cleaner design for hanging file folders without skimpy rods and metal brackets with holes would make this a much better product.

There's a large scratched area on the front, top of the file cabinet. Super annoying because you can't reallt hide it.If it was near the back, I wouldn't have cared, but a brand new piece if furniture shouldn't have the fake wood finish chipping before I even put it together

This lateral file is a perfect fit for my office. Color, quality, and functionality are tops. It was a bit time consuming to assemble, however, the instructions are very good. All hardware was included and all pieces clearly marked to aid in assembly. I highly recommend this lateral file.

It is pretty tedious to put together. But I did it 8 months pregnant and it took me probably like three hours to do. But I did take my time and went slow because I didn’t want to damage the press. Very sturdy and heavy and I’m so pleased. I have a terrible time ordering furniture online so I am extremely happy and surprised nothing came damaged and that the directions were decent. The only hard part was getting the drawers higher or lower so they didn’t rub the bottom or block each other. But I also have never put one together before. Very happy with this manufacturer!
