This Safe Home® Radon Test Kit is a cost saving way to get an effective peace of mind from its testing. You put the test in the lowest level of your house, away from open windows or doors. I think it’s best to not have recently aired out the house. You log the tests location and start time online in the registration. They will even send you a reminder when it is time to conclude the test. Test time should be between 2 and 4 days. When test is done, put it in the included plastic package and mail it off. The postage is at your expense. They do recommend fedEx and have a “special pricing” for this product, but I found it wasn’t much of a savings. I used USPS which they suggest is the least reliable. However, being much more convenient and same price range for me, this was my choice and it worked out fine. When you register you pay the $20 for the cost of the testing which is conducted by their NRPP Certified Lab, who assure accurate results. They are certified in all 50 states so that adds to its credibility and reliable data. We got our results, via email, in 3 days. I wish the whole thing was easier to understand. The results were not exactly easy to read and took some studying and a lot of reading..Each kit includes 1 short-term test to measure radon levels in your home.

The test itself was easy to use. I have allergies and sometimes it’s hard to know what’s causing my symptoms, so being able to test multiple spots around the house is a nice addition. Not the biggest fan of the additional lab fee, but they don’t try to sneak it by you. Overall the process was pretty simple and painless.

This sample-collection test seems comparable to the ones provided upon request by my state, and the lab fees are comparable too -- which instills confidence, but also makes me wonder why I would pay for both the lab anaylsis AND the kit, but regardless -- if your state or local government doesn't provide these tests free (check first!), or perhaps if you need a bulk supply, this seems like a good option. Radon is a silent killer, so better safe than sorry!

Great radon test kit! I purchased an old house and wanted to know more about what I might be breathing in. This kit is super simple to use and the instructions are clear. It is inexpensive and the company makes it very clear up front that there is an additional lab fee that is required. I got my results within 10 days after mailing out my kit to the lab. I got updates when the lab received my kit, and the radon report with the results is very detailed and easy to understand. I highly recommend this kit!

The Radon Gas and Mold test kit was easy to use and had a fast turn around time. There is an extra fee required for lab testing but the convenience of an at-home test and the lab itself was easy to work with. Will definitely order again when needed!

There was not anything special about this radon test kit. As others have pointed out, there is a $20 fee to have your collected sample sent to a laboratory for analysis. The instructions indicate using the test kit over a period of 2 to 4 days. There are other test kits out there that include the laboratory fee within the purchase price of the kit.One thing that can be tricky with radon is that it is going to give you a different measurement if you have windows opened or closed, different seasons of the year and even relative to your HVAC filtration. It is good to keep this in mind before you start collecting your sample to make sure that you have an honest measurement of regular living conditions in the home.

First off the product doesn't include a petri dish, it is just some little plastic container for you to put your sample into. So it would only work if you can see the mold, and there is so much of it that you can scrape some off (which requires you to touch it). The mold "lab test" is not even a real test. It is just some person sending you a quick email saying what type of mold it is. Very strange. Does not feel legitimate. I would look elsewhere.
