Frequently Asked Questions About Silicone Foam Dressings

  • Q: How long does the dressing last, and when should it be replaced?

A: Each silicone foam dressing can be worn for up to 7 days, depending on the wound condition and exudate level. Replace the dressing when the exudate reaches the edge of the absorbent core or when it becomes saturated to maintain proper wound care.

  • Q: Can I shower or swim with this on?

A: Our silicone foam dressing is water-resistant and can be worn in the shower. However, for best results, it should be replaced after showering. It is not recommended for swimming, as prolonged water exposure can affect its adhesion and absorption capabilities.

  • Q: Is it safe for sensitive skin, and does this dressing stick on its own?

A: Yes, this dressing is safe for sensitive skin. It is hypoallergenic, latex-free, and designed to minimize the risk of irritation or allergic reactions. Additionally, it features a gentle silicone adhesive that securely adheres to the skin without causing pain or damage when removed.

  • Q: Can I cut it into a smaller size for minor wounds?

A: No, our silicone foam dressings should not be cut into smaller sizes. They have an adhesive border that helps seal the wound and maintain an optimal healing environment. Cutting the dressing can compromise its ability to absorb exudate and protect the wound properly. Instead, choose from our available sizes: 4"x4", 6"x6", and 7"x7".

  • Q: How can I prevent the dressing from falling off?

A: Avoid stretching the dressing during application. Stretching can cause deformation and tension, leading to the dressing peeling off or losing adhesion. For the best fit and secure placement, apply the dressing gently without pulling or stretching it.

  • Q: Is this product medically approved or doctor-recommended?

A: Our dressings are medical-grade and trusted by healthcare professionals. They are designed for home and clinical use, offering advanced wound care technology.

These are a great addition to any first aid kit. These are individual wrapped and sealed. Easy to apply and take off when done. I get rashes from other adhesive bandaids. These are hypoallergenic and did not leave a rash around the adhesive part. The actual bandaid was 6X6 with 4.5X4.5 foam part.

Last year I had the unfortunate reason to need to go to urgent care twice for situations that caused large open wounds. Both times on my arm. They were deep and took a long time to heal. I wish I would have found this silicone foam protection back then. Instead I used gauzes and tapes and multiple bandages in order to get physical work done while wound healing. I kept needing to replace the tape and bandages too frequent to be productive in my day. This year I did not need urgent care, yet. However I did have a significantly long cut from a doorway entrance. At a glance this silicone foam dressing may look too large. But not for this lengthy arm cut. I put nonstick gauze on my cut (nonstick as I'm now a pro) and placed foam dressing over that. I was good for the rest of the day and through the night. I will now always have this dressing at hand in my medicine cabinet.

Large healing transparent tape. I've actually used it myself and improved the appearance and decreased the size of my keloid scar. It's not sticky, but it can be reused at least twice.

This foam dressing is one of the most effective dressings I've used to date. It seems to provide enough cushion, absorbency and ventilation for air to get through than other foam dressings I've tried to date. There may be other factors involved, but the pressure sores on the back seemed greatly improved after only about four days of use. I juts bought another box. This will be my dressing of choice going forward.

I like the way the foam supports the dressing inside. Also the silicone cushion helps it stay in place and protects from most pressures.
