This review is specifically for using Rub'n'Buff to help with scratched or dinged automobile paint. I'm currently driving a 20-year-old Odyssey. There were dings in the paint along the edges of doors, on the bumper, and other places consistent with wear. With the exception of this large scratch on the driver-side front fender, they weren't very noticeable but they bothered me. Clearly, I don't want to put much money into body work on such an old vehicle. I knew about rub'n'buff and googled using it on car bodies, vibe was positive, so I ordered this silver. Fortunately, the color matches Honda light silver *perfectly.* So I just got 2 microfiber cloths and went for it. You can see the results in the photos, which was the worst scratch--not too bad a for a minimal investment and really not even that hard of an effort. I daubed it on thickly in order to build up the product a bit, then wiped away excess with a second rag *soaked* in rubbing alcohol. This is important because you want to remove all the product that's not inside the ding, or just like touching up wall paint you'll have a big swipe of slightly different color. It made a really nice difference on the overall appearance of this old beauty, and worked equally well on the metal body, the side-view mirrors, and even the bumpers. It's 1 year later today, and it's holding up very well.

I own a vintage BMW motorcycle (1968 R69S) and was looking for something to bring at the aluminum cases of the engine back to life - they were looking a bit dingy and gray. Read a few reviews about Rub N Buff on a BMW FB group page and thought I'd try it. Wow! this stuff is really amazing. I took someone's advice and put a little on a toothbrush and then sprayed a tiny amount of thinner on the brush before brushing in on the engine case. The thinner helps work the paste into the pores of the aluminum. Rub it out, and the cases look new. I had no idea it would be this easy. I've tried all sorts of methods of trying to clean those engine cases and they always come up look gray and dull. The tubes of Rub N Buff seem way too small when you get them but after you start using it you realize that a little goes a long way. I did my engine and transmission and a few other small bits with about a quarter of a tube. (you get two tubes) No idea how long the finish will last but I've done a half dozen rides since I applied it - getting the engine hot - and the finish seems no worse for wear. If it lasts six months and I have to apply it again, I'll be happy enough because it's really easy to apply.

When I first heard about RubnBuff, I really didn't believe in the results it could obtain. After seeing an acquaintance use it on a project close to what I would use it for I decided to give it a shot. I am in love! The ease of use is amazing. All you need is a pair of gloves and a cloth and go to town. I do have to say that it does lightly rub off if you use it for say hardware refinishing and other things that you use a lot. It is more of a practical use if you use it on things you don't plan on touching a lot.

Excellent product for producing a natural metal finish for modelling aircraft for those not interested in all the annoyance of using/cleaning an airbrush. This can easily be sealed with Future (old name, now "Pledge Floor Gloss") and still maintains metallic luster.
