Why Smart Hardwire Kit?
Advanced Parking Mode Our Advanced Parking Mode will protect your car while the ignition is turned off. It's most notable features are:
- G Sensor: Gravity senor will capture impacts caused to the vehicle such as any hit-and-run driver in the act while you are away. Energy Saving in Parking Mode extends coverage duration exponentially by keeping the dash cam in a power-saving mode during inactivity. The dash cam enters a Sleep Mode and Wakes Up instantly after an impact has been detected to safely record and store the next 20 seconds.
- Time Lapse: This unique Parking Mode feature is perfect for dash cams with smaller SD cards. Time Lapse records footage at a lower frame rate while reducing video size, to cover a longer period of surveillance.

Installation Instruction
Find the Correct Fuse Slot
Locate the car fuse box, please refer to your car's manual. Open the fuse box, find the correct fuse slot for your hardwire kit. If you need to find an ignition switched fuse, put the key in the vehicle, find the fuse which is not lit up while the car is off, and test it by turning the car on to see if it lights up. If your kit requires constant power, turn off the car and remove the key to see which fuse slots stays lit on.
Connect the Red Wire
Our hardwire Kit come with a 15A Mini type fuse. Plug the red wire fuse connector into the switched fuse box in the correct orientation.
Connect the Yellow Wire
Plug the yellow wire fuse connector into the hot fuse box in the correct orientation.
Ground the Hardwiring Kit
Slip the black wire (which is in the shape of a C) under a metal bolt or screw in your vehicle (this is the ground wire). Check that it is not attached onto plastic parts. You will typically need a socket wrench to loosen the nut or bolt that you choose to ground with. To attach the grounding terminal, loosen the nut or bolt enough to slip it in and tighten it back up afterwards.

This is also not compatible with the R4. I ordered it months ago but only today did I find the time to install it just to realize the connection does not match the camera so I've wasted an hour getting prepared. And wasted all this time having the wrong kit.

Great product - easy install - very discreet above the mirror. I like the fact I can choose to turn off the loop recording which turns it into GoPro like functionality for recording the entire length of a drive when I want this option - otherwise it stays in the 3 minute loop recording. If you don’t want the screen on all the time (default), use the screen saver setting.

Upping this review from 2 to 4 stars, since it turns out the problem may have been my car's battery. The unit works, but you need to have the engine on for a while to charge the supercapacitor in the camera, otherwise the parking monitor doesn't last very long. Still not five stars since I think Rexing's solution to the different fuse types - selling one kit with three different fuses, two of which you'll never use - is wasteful and doesn't make a lot of sense.Original title: voltage protection my rear-endThis kit was a hassle to install (had to replace the ends with a low-profile fuse adapter), but I don't fault Rexing for that. In the end, it got power to the dashcam, including enabling the battery.However, the low-voltage protection didn't save the battery on my 2011 Subaru Outback. The camera did shut off, but the remaining voltage wasn't enough to start the car. I'm writing this review while waiting for roadside assistance to give me a jump. Luckily I didn't have anywhere important to be today. I'll be running this kit with only the ignition-activated cable from now on.
