I've always been wary of these types of leashes because I thought it might give the dog too much distance if something happened, like encountering an aggressive dog, not allowing me enough time to retrieve my dog. I have also seen people use these irresponsibly, letting the dog stretch it across bike paths, entering people's yards, interacting with people or their dogs when they did not want the intrusion, or other activities where the dog might as well not be on a leash at all. So, I made a lot of mental notes while using this one:1) I do not recommend this for initial leash training because it gives the dog mixed signals about what is an acceptable distance to be away from their master. I'm a firm believer that they should start learning in the traditional heel position right by your side.2) Having said that, if you do have a well trained dog, such as mine, you can allow them this freedom with the understanding that they stop and/or return to you immediately upon command. This leash coils back in quickly and accurately for that. I think of this as a supplement to being off leash in places where a leash is required. My dog will go hiking with us off leash and knows the maximum distance to roam ahead, always looking back for guidance, and will obey the stop and come back commands. If your's is not trained for this you might have a day of being tugged along willy nilly while your dog "explores" the limits of this leash and your patience.3) This is not a good leash to tie down your large dog, outside for a quick dash into the corner market for example. Mine weighs 82 lbs and was able to pop open the locking mechanism on the handle with ease when I tested it.4) The light is a nice feature, especially for night time potty breaks to confirm a "successful mission."5) Having the doggy bag carrier is a nice feature as well.6) It retracts quickly enough without jamming.7) The reflective material on the leash is also a great idea.Overall, I recommend this leash for the right dog in the right circumstances. I'm glad I got it and can see how it has expanded my dog's walking routine. I will use it sometimes and his other leash at others.

This thing was so cheaply made , the bag holder falls out at the slightest touch , the flashlight broke at the first touch . I don’t even use it cause it’s more of a hassle than help . Waste of money !! DO NOT BUY !!

This is so handy ! You can clamp it to something if you need to be hands free for a bit.The only thing that would be nice is a little longer leash.

So, only one gripe and I can't even take a star off for it. You both can and 'can't' take off the poo bag at the bottom. You CAN remove it but if you do you have a tiny hole that exposes a bit of wiring to the elements if you aren't careful. Just a thing to keep in mind if you're worried about it getting in the way or have a different bag holder you prefer. I'm using this with a cat so I guess it'll be good for keeping me honest about taking bags with me. She hasn't used the great outdoors for number 2 yet, but I do need to be ready to be responsible.Lightweight, a nice bright light, and the ability to hook an otherwise unhookable leash? I LOVE IT! I used to be a dog walker and used reel leashes all the time and there was NOTHING worse than needing a third hand and having no way to do it. So few reel leashes even allow enough space to get your wrist through the handle, let alone attach the dog, or other pet, somewhere.AND THE ENTIRE LEAD IS REFLECTIVE! I love that. Zips in and out nice and smooth and the entire thing is well balanced. Considering you're getting a 'multi tool' of sorts it would be so easy to stuff too much in or put it in the wrong places to be handy but cumbersome. They pulled it off and it's amazing. It's an all in one, grab and go, dog walking (or cat walking) kit.The only thing I can't attest to is the STRENGTH of the clip on function, so do test that with your dog or pet before leaving them for any length of time. It seems strong, I've given it some good tugs and can feel a little bit of give but not much and some give can be a good thing rather than a single latch that would just break. Test it out with your pooch and their temperament but it'll certainly do the trick for anyone in quick situations.

So good !! I love it you can go out you dog also you can hold in any pole around is strong just the little cover where u put the poop bag is easily opened.

Editing review per their request as they are emailing me and stating they will go ahead and refund, reaching out before I had to move through Amazon.So far, had it for one day - decorative ring fell off, and the anti-slip handle was immediately pulled from the hand. The ring was actually installed wrong, it looked like they had just slapped it on without even checking as it was turned sideways and had to be re-seated completely.The light is good, but that's about it so far. The cord also will definitely not work well for a large dog. It's not heavy duty, it's almost like a cheap moving rope that was only sewn together with a single loop instead of 2-3 that you'd expect from a heavy duty cord. The snap hook is a tiny little thing that barely went over the loop in the harness.And the stop isn't that great. It says for dogs up to 90 pounds, but my 60 lb Husky pulled the cord even after we hit the stop. She pulls it all the way until 10 ft, which is crazy.All in all, very disappointing. I'll be sending it back.
