Installed this in my 1985 Mercruiser 260 after I had my impeller replaced and began seeing overheating problems. It hadn't been replaced in forever, so this was my first thing to replace. Since then, the temp has been dead on, and hardly moves even when I've got the hammer down.

I tried to buy a Chinese knock-off. Guess what? It lasted 3 trips. Don’t do it, spend the extra dollar and buy mercury/quicksilver.

Fulfillment question answer. This was the proper replacement for my 1990 GM 5 liter MerCruiser engine. Thermostat housing showing and Picture. Diameter of thermostat approximately 2 1/8 inches. Work perfect, replaced aftermarket thermostat which did not work at all.
