I am a RV man of 50 years plus. I'm very familiar with RV cables , plugs etc. This on is well made and quite suitable for my purpose. Is as described, shipped properly taking about week to arrive. Receptacle box and plug well made. I do recommend this product.

I just installed this and gave it a test run, in which everything worked perfectly. We were affected by Hurricane Helene, and we were without power for 7 days. Fortunately because we own a travel trailer we had acquired a good inverter generator which has the 30 amp trailer connection, and thus gave us some power. We used extension cords to run refrigerators and battery chargers and flashlights and survived well.This generator inlet box and cord will give us the ability to use all of our house except the appliances that use 240 volts, but having gas heat and water (and great outdoor cookers) will get us through easily, and we won’t need those tripping hazards.I gave 4 stars for two reasons: the box knockouts are 3/4 inch so I had to get and use bushings with the 1/2 conduit I used, and the plug body does not show which prong should connect to the hot wire and which one is neutral-I found the answer on an enclosed paper but I had to dig it out of the trash, petty, I know.

Nothing special on the install, though I expected the case to be more weather proof. For extra protection I placed the inlet in a sheltered location under the house so as not to expose it directly to rain. The Inlet socket accepted 8 gauge wire which I appreciated since that was what I had to do the installation with. This is not a truly weather-proof box. Water proof cable clamps are superfluous since the box is not completely tight. Just used metal cable clamps.

This is exactly what I needed to run my cabin on the generator. I mostly use solar but when I want coffee I need to run the generator. The knock outs are ready to go and there are also plugs for the unused knock outs. Wiring was quick and easy.
