About this item

  • Polycarbonate / Polycarb (PC sheet) is the superior choice over Plexiglass for use around the home, workshop, car, and in the VEX Robotics Competition. Extremely easily workable without cracking or chipping. Exclusive EasyRuler Protective Film makes work even easier, then just peel it off to expose a pristine, smooth, clear surface.
  • Shatter resistant, easy to cut, drill, bend, and thermoform. Use simple tools like snips or hacksaws to cut and standard drill bits without cracking or fracturing. Simple to bend with a heat gun, may also be cold-bendable. Thermoformable, often used for vacuum molding.
  • This polycarbonate plastic sheet is manufactured from 100% virgin, brand-name polycarbonate PC resin. This means you get the same high quality clear plastic sheet you expect with the exclusive EasyRuler film you can't find anywhere else. This polycarbonate sheet is UV stabilized, making it suitable for general-purpose applications with moderate sunlight exposure. For significant direct sun exposure over extended periods, UV coated sheets are recommended.
  • THIS SHEET SHIPS ROLLED!!! Exact size sheet is precisely 12x24", unlike other nominal sheets that can be up to 1/4" smaller than specified. Includes a single accurately square & straight cut sheet of 1/32" (0.03125 inch, approx 0.8mm) thick Polycarbonate. 1 foot by 2 feet, 1/32 inch (0.03 inches) thick.
  • VEX Robotics Resource & Installation Kit available on request, includes tips and info, adhesive cutting/drilling guide, and plastic usage chart. The best resource for VEX EDR Robotics plastic sheet to improve their robot, documentation, and build quality. Legal for use on VEX Robotics competition robots: Rule R9 permits plastic from one 12x24x0.070" sheet.

Product Description

Polycarbonate is a superior clear plastic sheet compared to Acrylic/Plexiglass

Sheets can easily be cut, milled, and drilled with any standard tools (hacksaw, jigsaw, snips for thin sheets, standard drill bit, etc.) without the cracking or fracturing you would find in Plexiglass. Additionally, Polycarbonate can be bent neatly. Thin sheets can be bent cold with sheet metal techniques, while thicker ones are easy to shape with the help of a heat gun. It is also perfect for thermoforming or vacuum forming. This makes Polycarb perfect for both DIY and professional projects around the home, shop, or for manufacturing.

EasyRuler Film

Exclusive EasyRuler Protective Film makes work even easier, measure, mark, and draw on the film and then just satisfyingly peel it off to expose a pristine, smooth, clear sheet.

Impressively Easy to Cut

Polycarbonate is just about as easy to work with as wood but with unprecedented strength. Use simple tools like snips for thin sheets or a power saw with a plastics blade for cutting , as well as standard drill bits to make holes.

Unbeatable Strength & Impact Resistance

Polycarbonate Plastic is around 200 times stronger than glass and 30 times stronger than acrylic (PMMA) plexiglass. Polycarb is shatter resistant for better safety and security.

Exact Sized Sheets

Unlike other plastic sheets that are typically 1/8" to 1/4" smaller than specified ("nominal size"), all of EasyRuler's polycarbonate sheets are the EXACT size you orderered

Cutting polycarb with hack saw

Easy to Cut

  • Polycarbonate plastic is easy to cut and comes with EasyRuler film to make following lines easier.
  • Can be cut with saws such as a hack saw, circular saw, table saw, or jigsaw if equipped with a suitable blade. You can also use tin snips for 1/32" and 1/16" sheets, or CNC machines

Easy to Drill

Drill with Ease

  • Polycarbonate sheets are easy to drill. Use the crossing lines to space out holes with ease in these clear plastic sheets or tinted plastic sheets.
  • Unlike plexiglass or acrylic, polycarb panels can be drilled without cracking or shattering.

Easy to heat treat

Bend or Thermoform

  • Polycarbonate is easy to bend with heat. Thin plastic sheets can be cold bent too.
  • Polycarbonate can be formed into different shapes with just a typical hand held heat gun.
  • These PC sheets are often used for vacuum forming or thermoforming too.

Make Circles with Ease

  • EasyRuler film makes shapes easy to follow and keeps the plastic surface clean until you are ready to peel.
  • Mark your work the protective film, make the cuts and peel to reveal a protected and pristine surface.

Worked great for making the panels for the 1/12 buggy.

Unlike thicker sheets, this was thin enough that instead of sending it flat, they sent it rolled up in a box. Not a tight roll, maybe a 6-inch radius (I didn't measure), but enough that I was not able to get this to be flat again, after a week of trying. That made it useless for my purposes so I sent it back and got the 1/16" thickness instead.Of course, if you want something that could bend into a cylinder, this might be just what you want.

Product is great quality however came rolled up and its very difficult to get flat now which is needed for the application. If you don't need it flat then this is a great product for you.

Just know that you will receive this rolled up. Very hard to get it back flat.

Never leave reviews but saw a lot of people complaining about how it’s shipped in a tube and it’s nearly impossible to get the warp out to lay flat. I took the racks out of my oven and set it to like 200. Once preheated, I put it on a cold baking sheet and slid it in there “standing up”. Left her in there for like 4 or 5 minutes and it actually already started opening up on its own and started touching the sides of the oven. So I pulled it out and put it on a table with lots of books on it for about 10 minutes and it took it! It lays perfectly flat now after a total of like 15 minutes. Not bad.

If you absolutely need a flat surface as I did, I cannot recommend this product. I don't know if this was just a me problem or if this is how they ship it to everyone, but mine came rolled up as if it were a poster. If you know anything about thin plastic, then you know that it loves to retain it's shape especially when it's warm. It showed up basically unusable and any attempt to flatten it out resulted in plastic warping. Some said to place it between two sheets of glass and let it sit out in the sun, but since it's been a high of 20 degrees Fahrenheit, I doubt that would do much here in Colorado.

I was able to use two sided sponge tape to attach this to my garage wall where my car door opens. Our garage is right so my car door opens against the dry wall damaging it. I repaired the drywall and put the plexiglass there and it absorbs the door being pressed against it and does not mar or crack. It’s perfect. Exactly what I wanted. The songe tape gives it a bit of shock absorbency so it’s not resting directly on the drywall.
