This ceiling wall mount is a solid option for anyone looking to save space while setting up a photography or video studio. The MSKIRA Photography Studio Ceiling Wall Mount comes with an adapter to fit various setups, accommodating both 1/4" and 3/8" screw types. It allows for up to 30 inches of boom arm extension, which is useful for positioning lights like softboxes or LED ring lights. What’s great is the flexibility it offers for different gear, from softboxes to monolights, and it's fairly simple to mount. The only catch could be the installation process, as ceiling mounts can be tricky depending on your space, but it’s manageable if you have the right tools. If you're looking to free up desk space or need more control over light positioning, this could be a great addition.

This is a great mount! I use it on a ceiling and it holds well. I did used lag screws to secure it with a cross section 2x4 between joists. It's a great mount!

I really like this mount. I believe it's very durable. It was impressive how thick and heavy it was, and I like how it mounted very nicely. It holds my light and moves out of the way.

Oh. My. Gosh… I cannot say how excited I am to have finally treated myself. This is amazing. No linger do I have to try and balance sandbags on my floor stand so my photography light doesn’t fall to the ground because I’m trying to make it go all the way out to the end of my boom stand and then counter balance it at the other end. What a pain in the neck and I have done this for so many, many years. This is such a treat to not have to worry anymore and I can easily swivel it to the left and right as well. I can still angle it anyway I want from my actual light where it can be angle from there. I feel very safe and secure hanging my light from this. It is very durable and strong feeling. NOT cheap at ALL!!I absolutely appreciate the safety attachment that wraps around the base from the ceiling metal loop to your light just in case. What a great safety precaution and I am always about safety so this is a huge win!I will forever look up at my ceiling and be so excited I finally did this for myself!

This kit came with basically everything I needed to mount it, minus the drill. The arm itself feels sturdy. It is very easy to extend and lock into position. The end of the arm can rotate freely 360 degrees. It also has a safety loop on the base of the arm so you can attach a cable to whatever is being connected to it. One other nice touch is a hole layout template is provided making it super easy to mock up where the mount will attach and then drill the holes. Overall, a very decent mount kit!

It feels like it is made of aluminum, but given that the light is meant to hang straight down, I don't think this is really a problem. I'm hanging an Amaran 60d with Light Dome Mini III from it and I have not had any issues with it supporting that. The lock mechanism holds tight and it hasn't dropped down or anything. However, it only includes very short screws that are absolutely not adequate for hanging this from a stud, so you will need to supply longer screws. I also really wish there was a way to lock the 360-degree rotation thing as I really can't think of any good reason why anyone would WANT that to freely rotate. It's mostly just annoying, but not a deal breaker.Overall, not a bad value, just make sure you anticipate the limitations.

Except for the plastic tightening-knob, this ceiling mount is entirely made of powder-coated steel. It is strong and reliable and a great way to permanently mount a camera or light in a (relatively) fixed position. One interesting yet disappointing feature is the non-locking 360° rotation built into the bottom joint containing the ⅜" or ¼" male mounting post. When the unit is mounted to the ceiling, this rotation feature allows you to easily and conveniently rotate/point your light in different horizontal directions. If mounted to a wall though, the joint's un-lockable rotation is undesirable because your light or camera will have a tendency to rotate vertically along that axis due to the weight of the light or camera. The lack of a lock on the rotating joint is my reason for only an average 3-star rating.

I have not mounted this yet but thats only a minor point on this. The all aluminum ceiling mount is very well made and really solid. The package comes with a nice set of concrete anchors if you need to mount to concrete and also standard wood type screws. The whole setup is pretty simple so you can mount this on the ceiling a wall or on the floor, depending on your needs.I will be mounting this from a ceiling and because it has both the 3/8" and 1/4" screw mount adaptor you can easily mount a light or a camera. In my case I will be using this to mount a camera from the ceiling for videography. Its capable of extending from about 1.5 ft to almost 3 feet in length so a good amount of adjustment. This even comes with the wire safety lanyard so you can secure it to something for that extra safety so it does not fall to the ground if improperly mounted.
