Had a SATA port on my motherboard quit working. Had a DVD drive that my computer quit recognizing. I added this SATA card, connected the drive to it, and now it works like it is supposed to.

These tiny cards failing to work is almost unheard of. They're very basic. Installing it was simple modifying it was a snap However I don't think these translate well for things that need an extra power source such as a hard drive. But there is no room on this card for much more. I used this in a Dell Optiplex which is why I have no space to work with as it is. This card is a great and helpful addition when I needed to hook up my 2 gig heavy blocky and dying ATA drives.

PCIE 4 port SATA extender, with cables. This has enabled me to replace the one 3.5” HDD with 2 smaller , faster , quieter, lower power SSD drives inside the case of my Dell XPS 8930 which has limited space , power and connections. The card is very small and this is great because it leaves more room to route the SATA cables.I already had spare cables but was really pleased that this card came with 4 straight ended SATA cables because you need to use straight cables to fit them in to the connector block on the card. I also needed to use straight ended connectors for my SSDs because 2 of them were stacked together in one 3.5” bay.The SATA cables are the locking type , which is good, although I found when 2 were stacked on top of each other the locking mechanism was depressed because the top cable sits so close to the bottom one, so no different to a normal cable in this scenario. I’d still rather have locking cables for all the other connections.Note: to add the extra drives I also needed additional Power connections and a 2.5 to 3.5 mounting bracket which do not come with this card. I used a power splitter cable which split one power connector in to two.Price seems right and these come with SATA cablesPROsSmall card allows room for cablesStraight end connectors SATA cables suppliedPlug and play (windows 11 system)Easy upgrade.CONSPower splitter cable would have been nice

This review is of the LTERIVER PCIe 3.0 X1 to 4 Port Serial SATA 3 host controller. The package came with the standard bracket, a proper low profile bracket, retention screw, and four locking SATA cables. I tested this in a HP Elitedesk 800 G2, and booting into the BIOS I could see the drive attached to this card and set one as the boot device. I could also boot from it, which is great. As such no drivers are needed to be installed in Windows 10, though I didn’t try doing a fresh install to ensure that it worked there.PROS:Proper low profile bracket card!Four locking SATA cables (due to the locks, the upper cables should be installed first)Status/Access LED for each SATA channel on the card to aid in troubleshootingNo additional power cables needed, simply plugged into PCIe X1 slot to workWorks with Windows 10 and Debian Linux (kernel v5.14) (systems tested)CONS:None so farOverall, a nice card that I would recommend for those who need extra SATA hookups.

it works fine with no issues so far. Plenty of people recommended this type of device which is why I went with it and it works so far.

I was looking for a SATA controller card that I could add to my system to service a couple optical drives that I'm just not ready to let go of. For a new motherboard with 6 SATA ports, I was frustrated to see two of them were disabled by using a certain m.2 slot and I already have 3 of 4 of the remaining slots filled with SATA SSDs. I picked up this 4 port LTERiver PCIE 1x card to gain 4 SATA ports, of which two I am planning to use for BR and DVDR-W drives immediately. This kit includes a low profile bracket as well as a pre-installed full-profile bracket, 4 locking 15" SATA 3.0 cables, and a PCIE 3.0 x1 card that's small and won't block airflow. The card has a ASM1064 controller chip with a decent sized heatsink on it (while good for longevity in general, plenty of motherboards come with this controller chip and no heatsink attached to it), 4 blue drive access LEDs soldered onto the card (there is no header for a case HD activity LED, but those have gone out of style for a while now), and the female SATA ports are designed with the use of lockable SATA cables in mind (sometimes it's nice to not be able to lightly bump a SATA cable and cause it to unplug).I had no issues powering down my system, installing the card, and then putting it to use with my drives. My biggest concern is that the blue status LEDs are on the side of the card that's not visible in most ATX cases, including my own.The price of this 4 port SATA card seems comparable to other non-RAID controller cards available on Amazon and this kit includes some SATA cables to boot.
