Despite a few nit-picks, I find this a very solid value when under $60.Amazon has earlier versions of this listed by the same merchant, with hundreds of reviews. Some of the complaints are ill-founded.Stated dimensions: Most are slightly off. Overall width is way off...It's 20.5", not 27.5". Some of the pictures suggest it's larger than actual .Rust: The fasteners are stainless steel. Main parts are painted steel. They could have made it 100% rust-proof for maybe double the price.PROs: - Very solid design and execution (2 exceptions...see Note 1) - Stainless steel and brass water inlet/swivel parts seem rock solid, leak free, and built to last. - Assembly instructions are extremely clear, well illustrated, and complete. No tiny type. Contact email included. - Branded productOKs: - 125-foot claim is probably a stretch (see Note 2) - Feeder tube has an inner diameter of .39 inches, creating a flow volume restriction. - Feeder hose (3.9ft dark-ish green, as pictured) has very solid brass-looking (aluminum) connections (see Note 3). - Concrete and stucco anchors provided, along with 2-3/8" lag bolts (see Note 4)CONs: - No stated warrantyNIT PICKs: - Side wheels have semi-sharp edges (inside edges). Filing them smooth will invite rust.- - - Tips - - -You can use it with the handle on the left and the water input on the right, if you don't mind the hose feeding from the bottom. Either mount it upside down (with no basket) or assemble it with handle on the opposite side (basket mount available).Be careful attaching the crank to the spindle. Easy to cross-thread the fastener.- - - Notes - - -Note 1: Everything feels tight and rock-solid, and goes together well, thanks to thoughtful design and close tolerances. EXCEPT...where the hand crank attaches to the spindle. Lots of slop, even after fully tightening the fastener. Cheesy. Also, one of the rivet nuts (for attaching the basket) was loose, so no way to tighten that side down well.Note 2: 125 feet...Theoretically, yes. Just like a 4-person tent can theoretically sleep 4 people. I'd say 80-100 feet unless your 5/8" hose is thin-walled and highly organized.Note 3: Aluminum can corrode badly over time, when attached to dissimilar metals. Try plumber's grease or teflon tape, since these are semi-permanent connections.Note 4: Lag bolts (zinc plated) are overkill for mounting to wood. I'll use smaller stainless steel screws with heavy washers to protect the square tubes from crushing.

This is made of way higher quality metal than what you're thinking. Feel like it can take a beating. Simple to build and looks great. Comes with all mounting hardware options you might need (lag screws for me.) I'm mounting it near my frost free hydrant and then coiling my hose out of the garden.I may or may not have hit my garden hose last year with my mower and spent hours cutting it out from under my deck.

The quality of garden hose reels ranges from one extreme to another. This is a nice reel and at the current price is definitely a value buy. However, there are a couple of quirks that will be outlined later.Instructions: Very clear and easy to followAssembly: Not at all difficult. Only takes about 20-25 minutes to assemble and is much easier with your own tools, i.e., ratchet, extension, 4mm hex socket, and a pair of pliers (see photo)Hardware: The materials and fasteners are very niceManufacturing Quality: Mostly very nice, some quirks.Quirks: TwoSomewhere during the manufacturing process nicks, scrapes, and blemishes developed on the painted surfaces. Nothing shocking, especially considering how it will be used. If you are expecting a museum quality finish, you may be disappointed. I say “may” because this could have been an unfortunate occurrence. There are a total of four weep holes. They should all be at the bottom. As you can see from the photo, two of the weep holes are misplaced at the top of the lower joints for both “P” brackets. I will need to drill new ones and seal the misplaced holes to keep water from collecting inside of the square tubing.Would I recommend this item to others? SureWould I buy it as a gift for someone else? ProbablyHad I purchased this outright, would I have returned it? No, it’s easier to fix than replace.Personal Vine Disclosure: I only review items I would or have actually purchased and used. In some cases similar items from different companies are reviewed for comparison. The feedback (review) is honest, matter-of-fact, fair, sometimes with a hint of whimsy, and always with a critical eye.

I recently upgraded my outdoor hose reel to the Artigarden Outdoor Wall Mounted Hose Reel, and it has been a great addition to our newly renovated farmhouse. The sleek black design fits perfectly with our new elegant black and white theme, giving our yard a more refined look. The reel itself is sturdy and well-built, capable of holding up to 125 feet of a 5/8-inch hose, which is more than enough for our needs. It also comes with a 3.9-foot leader hose and brass fittings, which provide a secure connection to the spigot. One of the features I appreciate is the storage basket that comes with the reel. It's handy for storing small gardening tools or an extra hose nozzle, keeping them organized and within reach. Compared to some other models, like retractable reels, this one requires manual winding, but I find it easy to manage. For instance, the Giraffe Tools Retractable Garden Hose Reel offers a convenient retractable feature, but it's more expensive and might not fit as seamlessly into our decor.I recently used this reel to water my garden beds, and it was a breeze. The hose unwound smoothly, and the reel's stability ensured that it didn't tip over while I was moving around the yard. The overall quality and design of the Artigarden reel make it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to enhance their outdoor space with a durable and stylish hose management system.

Pretty cheaply made. I'm hoping to get a couple of years out of it. We'll see....
