I finally installed the motor in May. Quit working a month or so ago & no fuses had blown. Yesterday while departing a pick up 5hrs from home the motor burned up & filled the cab with smoke.

Needed to pass NC inspection. Wipers would freeze when in use . Needed this part to correct issue. Worked on 1st try.Not sure of longevity but has worked a month now.

Had one of these fail after about 6 months from water intrusion shorting everything out and burning up (photo is the last one included with no blue RTV). The wiper motor shorted out the positive 12 volt line to ground and drained my battery before burning open.Found this out as I tried to leave for work and the car was dead. Opened the old unit up to find no sealant had been used to make it water tight whatsoever. Seemed like a major oversight considering this motor will be exposed to water quite often. For round 2, I immediately opened the plastic cover on the control board and added a good bead of RTV all the way around. For good measure, I sealed the gaps and seams all around the outside of the control board cover and motor case. Three weeks and 2 heavy rainstorms later, the new wiper motor quit working. Removed and opened up the RTV sealed unit, and imagine my (lack of) surprise to find the circuit board had been submerged in water, corroded, and burned up various components just like the last unit. The only point of intrusion I have been able to find as the culprit would be the connection jack for the car-side connector. If these units just constantly fail due to water intrusion straight out of the box, much less after extra steps are taken to waterproof them, they are just ticking time bombs waiting to burn up and waste your money. Ordinarily for something like this, I would suggest saving money and getting this wiper motor if you are technically or mechanically savvy and take extra precautionary steps. Obviously even those steps couldn't save the motor, so do yourselves a favor: just don't buy this.

It's a bit of a hassle taking off the blade arms but once that's off, installing this motor is pretty easy. It fixed my broken motor and i can finally drive in the rain! Highly recommended.

Had to change my review on this item I put this in my 2006 mustang it lasted less than 6 months and it is now dead I believe in giving products a fair chance even when the reviews are a little mixed but alot of them were right it does prematurely fail right while it was raining on my way to work at 10:00 at night, would not recommend this product for your safety.
