If you look at other brands of this gasket they are "V" shaped, because that is the shape of where it is installed. This one is squashed square and if you try to reshape it, it just flexes at the middle flat area. This is bad because if it becomes misshapen, it will leak coolant, oil, or coolant into the oil. This is a difficult repair and you definitely don't want to do it twice. I will likely opt for a name brand.
