I bought this for my Android phone, which has mediocre audio. On the whole, this mic is an improvement, although there are some considerations. One, these mics can be hot -- when recording music, for example, I have the gain at the lowest setting and even then it can be a lot if I'm right in the thick of it. On the flip side, it's decent at picking up audio at a distance and filtering out noise outside of where you're pointing it.Two, it generally stays in place, but some cases are better than others. I had one case I had to modify because a flap cover on the USB port pushed it out. It also weights the camera to the side, so having a stick or something else to stabilize it helps.Three, not all camera apps support USB. I ended up using Open Camera, which can be configured to read it.Overall, this isn't a bad mic, especially for the price, and for me was an upgrade to my phone mic.

Phones have gotten really good about camera and microphone quality lately. Some people use them as their primary recording devices to produce content. The Movo DoubleMic UC is targeted at people doing just that, and within reason it is quite good.Like I said, phones have good microphones now. But what they have is usually an omnidirectional mic, meaning they are trying to pick up all the sound around them. The DoubleMic is a pair of cardioid mics, meaning they are somewhat directional in their pickup. Where you will notice this most in an average room is a decrease in room noise or room echo. It doesn't cut it out completely, but it does decrease it. If you have a source of noise and can position yourself so it is off to one side (or to the rear if you're using just the front mic) it can decrease the level of that noise. But it is likely to still pick it up - so this is what I mean by it's not magic. It's not going to turn a noisy environment into a podcast studio. It's only going to allow you to target your audio pickup somewhat. The build quality is great - a nice anodized aluminum body houses the mics with a USB-C connection sticking out at 90 degrees. The connection has an extended base so it can get the plug into phone cases. And despite the listing, it works with Android USB-C phones as well. It will also show up as a speaker when plugged in, so you can plug in earphones to hear the sound being sent out through it. Gain and microphone selector switches feel solid and are easy to operate by feel.It all comes with a nice case, and a set of both foam and "dead cat" windscreens for the mic.I find the audio quality to be clear, not super warm in tone, but these are small microphones so that's kind of expected. It is easy to clip the audio if you are holding the phone and therefore the microphone close to your face. The gain adjustments are a valuable control, even if they are limited to just +5, 0, and -5dB.For a solo person filming with their phone, this may be of limited use. For a two person setup or attempting to record in certain situations, it can be a valuable tool. And there are some interesting possibilities with the stereo separation of two opposing cardioid mics for those who like to experiment with audio. It's all about the expectations and knowing how to maximize the tools you are using.I think it's a five star product based on its build quality and the clarity of the audio captured for the size of the microphone.

Audio quality is good but the distance you need to be to the mic can be too loud or too soft, I recommend doing a audio text before using so you know how far your subject needs to stand in order to get the best audio volume. I would recommend this, as Ive been using it often with my phone for IG & TIkTOK interviews.
