Bit works well in all materials I have tried it in and gives a clean cut in the Baltic birch plywood I use most often. The downcut action pulls sawdust out of the cut so my dust collection system can work properly.

Designed to carve sign letters. I recommend shallow passes. It took a beating and came out great. Very sharp and well made. Very clean cuts minimal tear out.

This product gets right to the point at work. It drives deep and cleanly and doesn't leave one wondering "what the is the point?". Unlike Lynn Crosbie's writing. If you have a choice between either, choose this router bit, you will be amazed how well it does its job, as opposed to Lynn's ponderous writing in Where Did You Sleep Last Night. That book is best serving as a way to prop up a tippy table at the pub

Excellent depth of cut for an 1/8 inch diameter bit. I use this on my CNC Router and get very smooth cuts with only very little to no grain lift (aka fuzz) on cross grain cuts. A little care is needed on plunging... plunge cuts will burn a bit if feedrate is too fast, but using a gentle ramp and a reduced feedrate gets good results. As with any downcut bit cuts that are 100% width of the cutter will get choked with swarf (aka chips) even with good dust collection. Downward-compression bits do a better job of clearing chips but good luck finding one that is 1/8 inch.I would have gave 5 stars if plunging had been better.

Excellent build quality and function. Very easy yo break due to small size. Use carefully.

I'm using this with a custom made template to rout mortises for knife hinges, works great for this purpose. I've not experienced tear-out, and all mortises are perfect fits. Works especially well with small hinges. Will replace with the same if I ever need to do so.

I bought 9 of these babies. They were terribly fragile and 5 of the 9 broke on their very first cut.The others were broking in less then a half hour. I would not recommend these at all.I purchased these, trying to same some money as the other bit I was buying from WKW cost almost $35.However, the WKW blades almost never break. I run these blades three shifts a day, almost constantly, for weeks.I had some luck with Freud 76-100 but I am still testing those. Hope this helps.

This bit solves some of the most difficult issues when cutting small parts in a finish material. The downspiral flute leaves a razor sharp cut on the top of the material which is very important when cutting veneer or finish grade plywood. However, it is also a very fragile bit. I've now broken two of them, neither were the fault of the bit or Milescraft. The first broke when I tried to cut through 3/4" material. The bit does not have long enough flutes to cut through 3/4" material. Consequently it overheated at broke. The second bit broke when I forgot to set the tool height on a job requiring a tool change. The result was again, trying to cut too deep into the material. The bit cut a few mm and broke. Later I discovered it had actually cut a full 3/4" deep for several mm before overheating from rubbing and breaking.

I don't know why I thought it would be bigger, but this thing is a fragile bit designed for doing really ornate inlays. It promptly snapped after about an hour of use. Rather than getting another one, I took some frills out of my inlay template and upsized to a 1/4" bit. The 1/4" feels SO much sturdier and I like using it
