I had high hopes for using this keyboard with my GrandOrgue virtual organ as a second manual. (My first manual is an old inexpensive Yamaha 61-note MIDI keyboard that plays flawlessly (and always has). The white keys of the Midiplus generally play just fine, as long as you play them on the front edge of the keys; when I press them with fingers between two black keys, the white keys play about 50% of the time. The black keys play less than 50% of the time, regardless of where I press them. I have purchased another inexpensive Yamaha keyboard; all the keys work perfectly, but are on MIDI channel 1. I am in the process of programming an Arduino to change the MIDI channel from 1 to another channel. I tried another MIDI controller (Nektar), but it had the same problem. I'll stick to Yamaha.

Ok, if you're going into this keyboard expecting millions of bells and whistles, you're ... going to be sad. This is a great, simple, midi controller. Keys are functional. Not piano keys, but they're weighted somewhat. Plug n play. Easy to use.

I got this with the intention to play piano and synths via Ableton Live.Pro:it's cheap, it's plug and play, Ableton Live did recognize it immediately.Cons: it's VERY stiff and hard to play, if you are holding just one key it's fine. As soon as you do a couple of chords, or do "regular" speed passage you will start getting pain in your wrists. I have a Casio CTK3000 and it's a breeze to play in comparison. If you just want a simple midi controller, buy a smaller size from another brand. If you want to play synths or piano via midi. Get another brand. Or buy this one and enjoy painful playing. For me, not worth it. It's being returned and I will keep using my Casio CTK3000

Wow!

For the price, it can't be beat! Got this for my home recording studio and to also learn to play boogie-woogie style piano on a full size keyboard. My main concern was that it take up as little space as possible, which it does and is affordable, which it is. Key action is fine but my boogie needs work. It's been collecting dust in the corner for a little while now but honestly this is it's primary job - dust magnet. Time for more practice! I own 2 smaller scale keyboards with fewer keys that I use for midi input but this one, with 61 keys, allows me to try and get back into piano playing and not waste my parent's 5 year attempt at turning me into a piano player. Hated those piano lessons. Well, my proficient piano skills never happened but I got very good on drums and decent on guitar and have spent lots of dough on those instruments. Oh yes, I use it with Cakewalk Sonar Platinum and a very up-to-date PC with Win 10, 16 GB DDR4, and so on.

I just received this keyboard a few hours ago; if anything new develops, I'll update my review. At the moment, this seems like an good budget MIDI controller. There are a few quirks to it, such as the typos on various parameters, and the lack of a manual, but the former is easily interpreted and the latter is available online. More egregiously, my ipad doesn't recognize this midi controller (at least in garageband). This may be an issue with my USB adapter, but I have used it successfully for midi controllers in the past. If something has a picture of an ipad screenprinted on it, you would expect it to connect better. The keys feel nice so far, and they're responsive to my velocity. The drivers installed on my PC almost instantaneously, and after selecting it as a midi device in Reaper it worked without any hassle. The parameters I've adjusted (octave and midi channel) have worked so far, though the manual is a bit difficult to decipher as to what the others do. I imagine I'll figure that out with time and experimentation.Overall, I'm happy with this purchase so far. I'm sure there are more professionally made keyboards out there, but they don't cost $85! For the price, you get a lot.EDIT: I'm still using this controller, and it is still getting by. However, a few things I've encountered since the initial review:1) some of the keys squeak A LOT. This started to happen after maybe a week of heavy use. It can be pretty dang annoying when recording yourself singing and playing at the same time.2) occasionally, random numbers flash on the display. My best guess is that I'm hitting the keys hard enough to jiggle one of the two wheels or the slider. This hasn't affected performance at all, but it doesn't bode well.3) I cannot get aftertouch to work at all. When I edit the "Aftertouch" parameter of the midi controller, it seems to just send constant aftertouch data at whatever value I set it to. This is incredibly useless, as I want to be able to add vibrato or pitch bends by pressing down the keys harder or softer after initially pressing them. It's still working for me for now, but an upgraded controller is definitely on my wishlist.

Compared to my large Roland midi digital piano this keyboard is compact enough to fit in a small space on my computing table and light weight for me to carry around with an ipad mini that runs the Garageband. The midi controller has full size keys. It plays more then 100 notes on many instruments and gets the sustain pedal etc from the Garageband. The vendor forgot to include a user's manual in the box but it can be found online.

Great budget midi controller. Plug and play, instantly recognized by my music software. I like the feel of the keys and the velocity sensitivity (although if someone can tell me how to adjust that or turn it off, that would be great as there are certain situations where the sensitivity isn't needed). My second Midiplus product, and I'm impressed by them both. Can't comment on longevity as I've has it about a month, but the build quality seems to be very good.
