I am always skeptical about cheap locks. This one has done exactly what I intended, however, and has been going strong for quite a while. I was a bit worried that it stopped working after it got a little wet, but it turned out just to need charging. While I wouldn't trust this lock for mission-critical or safety-dependent use, I think it's fine with a backup release.
