Socks are as described. Soft and comfortable

I purchased these FLSCHMCEN socks in January 2023, and they have been hands down the best socks I've ever owned. After nearly two years of daily wear and washing, they’ve understandably lost a bit of their original thickness and cushion, but that’s completely reasonable given how much I’ve used them. Honestly, I only came back to order more because mine are now a bit stained — I could probably bleach them, but I think I might just treat myself to fresh set for Christmas 2024.These socks are leagues ahead of the big-box store options, which are often loaded with over 50% (or more) polyester or other subpar materials. The quality and comfort of these socks are unmatched! I’m beyond satisfied and will MOST CERTAINLY be purchasing these again! Highly recommend.

The size is fine

Just what I was looking for...mostly cotton socks with cushioning, and a bit of stretch. Being a big, active guy with wide feet, I really test all my footware. These socks have done their job. Through rain, snow, mud...they've held up and performed much better than their low price would suggest. I'll put these up against any of the fancy $10+/pair socks...which usually end up being too tight on my feet to begin with. One of the main keys here is that these socks being mostly cotton just feel great on my feet and allow them to breathe, even in harsh conditions. I've tried plenty of socks over the years and these have gotta be my overall favorites.

I may be on the autism spectrum, which means I have sensitives that others may not understand. Especially when it comes to the physical fitment and feel of clothing (among other things).My feet are large (size 10.5 men) and generally run hot.I need neutral fitting socks that breathe well. Made of 85% or more cotton. Anything else makes my feet hot and sweat profusely.All of the local stores and national brands have shifted their socks to be wayyyy too small. With lots of polyester content. Plenty of marketing BS that states "moisture wicking" and "odor control". Sorry but people need to realize that polyester is none of those, and if so, done with added chemicals.Something else happened in the past 8 years with socks. The new marketing ploy is "compression" which is terrible for my feet.So my only recourse is scouring the internet for neutral-fitting cotton socks, breathable fabric, and good durability. I was excited to see these socks and read the mostly good reviews. I figured I'd try them.The OK:These socks only tick the "cotton" box. But it feels like a microfiber, not the course, breathable fibers I prefer in socks. Some reviews state the cotton may be a lie. Maybe it is a lie. It doesn't feel anything like my older cotton socks.I bought size XL 12+ knowing they would shrink to size 10. They did exactly that. So if you want a neutral fit and not a compression sock, definitely order them one size larger than you actually need.The bad:I refuse to wash socks on cold. Doing so does not allow detergent and Oxy products to properly kill bacteria and fungus. I am active and my skin is very susceptible to athlete's foot. I need to wash them on warm at least. Although 10-20 years ago, I used to wash all cotton socks in hot water with no issues. Not anymore! The instructions say "hang dry". Um no, who does that? This isn't 1923. This 2023. We all have dryers now.The ugly:The toe seams are large and sewn too low in the sock, they dig into my nails. This can cause ingrown toe nails. The seams need to be set back on the toes like my older name brand socks.After just a few weeks of wearing and washing once per week, they are shedding clumps of fibers inside and out. But especially on the heals. I don't see these socks lasting a year before developing holes. Not 8 years like my previous name brand socks (that have since changed to children sized compression socks as well).It's become obvious to me that all sock companies have shrunk down the size to save money and increase profits. Then remarket them as "compression" socks. Do not want.How hard is it to copy an 8 year old Hanes sock design? I can send someone one of my old pairs if they want to copy it! LOL. I'd pay twice as much for a properly manufactured sock that: are made of cotton, can be washed in warm or hot water and dried in a clothes dryer, fits neutrally on the size foot they indicate, has the seams in the right place at the toes, breathes properly (none of this "moisture wicking BS"), doesn't contain chemicals or large amounts of polyester, rayon or other similar plastics, and doesn't fall apart in less than a year. That used to be the old standard for socks.I really hoped these socks were them. Nope. Close but no cigar. I will keep looking, albeit probably futile.*** UPDATE: 2023-06-06 ***The seller contacted me after the above review and offered to make it right. This is the first time on Amazon that a seller has reached out to me right away and stood behind their product after a review. Adjusting from 3 to 4 stars because the seller stands behind their products and cares about customer satisfaction which is rare these days. So go ahead and try their socks. While I didn't necessarily love them, they may work well for you.

I am very picky about my foot care and what I wear. Let me just say simply that these fit well and are very comfortable to wear. So soft and warm especially this time of year. They seem to be durable and a good weave to ensure longevity. I have to go through my sock drawer and throw out the old and replace them with these as I will definitely be ordering more to replenish my supply. And keep in mind you can never have enough socks because no matter how careful you are you will loose some in the laundry. I think everyone can relate to that. So go ahead and get some for yourself and get extra for those days of the "vanishing sock" because when you need that clean pair for a specific occasion or just every day wear you know they will disappear like Houdini and his famous vanishing act and your socks won't reapear as he did. I like to keep two pair I never wear for those special days like weddings or other festive occasions you want to look your best. Also they are an exceptional value in my opinion for the quality of these socks, I made sure that their main material was 100% cotton, for which I went for an ingredient test.
