I've had this for a long time and am just doing a review. It's a great fan and works great to help keep my aquarium temperature down. Only downfall is at times it does get a little noisy, but if you squeeze the outsides together and it's quiet again. It's been a trooper as it's running 24/7. I definitely would buy again!

Edited:Do not buy this pŕoduct. Even after its first flaw i tried to still give it a chance but after being used maybe 3 days if that, it finally just stopped working. U can still hear the motor running but the fans stopped. Not worth the money or time. Find something else.At first sight it looks well made when removing from box, but as soon as I hooked the power cord into the fan the piece it plugs into sunk back into the device. I had to use tweezers to pull in close enough to use super glue to reattach in and keep it in place. I tried unscrewing that side and managed to get one screw out but the other one is in so tight the screwdriver stripped it. Thanks to my tweezers and glue I managed to get it plugged in and running. I haven't let it run long enough to say whether it helps cool the water enough or not but I do know the only way I'd consider buying another from this company if or when this fan no longer works is by sending me a new fan without the same issue. If it weren't for my sons axolotl needing it so badly I would have put it back in the box and demanded a new fan, but as of right now we live in the south where the heat is up to 96° and it's difficult keeping the tank cool without dropping frozen water bottles in. Right now we can't afford one of those aquarium chiller machines after dropping over $300 for the tank setup and the axolotl for his bday. For now we have to do our best with what we have. Hoped this little fan would be our saving grace in atleast keeping the water down by 4°-5°. Hopefully it can still be that but for now my rating will not be as high as I'd hoped it would be.

Helped to lower the tank temperature immensely. In Arizona summer the tank gets around 82.7° on my 125 gal fresh water with a sump. Since I added the two blowers on the sump it’s down to 78.2°. Easy to install. Two double fans fit well on the sump. The fans omit a tolerable amount of sound. Great price. Very happy with the purchase!

It's keeping the temperature down at the moment but doesn't fit on the side because it doesn't open wide enough to go under the rim to tighten in place. So it's sitting on a makeshift lid right now. I'll have to order a different one.

These puppies work wonders! I needed a chiller, fans, *something* to bring the temperature of my tank water down a bit more in order to make my axolotl comfortable in his upcoming new home. Well, these arrived right away and boy do they work! I was actually surprised how *well* they work! While I can't speak for the results of using these on a much larger aquarium, for the 10gal I'm using them for (don't worry, my axolotl is only about two inches long and will be upgraded as he grows), the fans dropped the temperature into the perfect range, far more even than expected! They're pretty big, and they work perfectly on the low setting, though I did run them on high at first to drop the temperature quicker. They don't disturb the water much at all, which is great for axolotls and their aversion to strong currents. The joints are pretty tight and positioning the fan angle isn't the easiest, BUT, I definitely prefer that over too loose and not staying in place! They do make noise, but it's comparable to a computer running a game with its cooling fans kicked on. A steady whoosh and light hum. I can't speak for the longevity of these as I've only had them for a day and a half, but here's hoping they last, because they sure do the job!

I bought this for my 20 gallon tank that houses my axolotl and it keeps it at about 18 degrees Celsius on the low setting and around 16 degrees on the high setting which is perfect, especially since it can get pretty hot here in the summer. The low setting is not super loud which is great. Overall an amazing product!

Definitely does the job -- keeps my 10 gallon within a safe temperature even though the outside air temperature being in the mid-high 90's.The one thing that I did not like is the overall finish of the materials. Specifically, the metal tray/stand that attaches the fans to your fish tank. The tray/stand comes with two drilled holes, giving you the option to install screws in order to ensure a secure fit. The holes themselves were not cleaned up after they were drilled, so they had small pieces of sharp metal. Not taken care of, I could easily see this scratching the glass of the tank. This was easily "fixed" by just applying some velcro strips within the interior of the metal tray. I'm sure any other padded adhesive will work as effectively in order to cover up the metal scraps.Overall happy with the purchase given the small complaint mentioned above. The product is rather inexpensive for the security it provides you and your tank, so a minor defect in the finishing is keeping it at 4/5 stars for me.

I am very satisfied with this device. It is a little louder than I would normally like as the aquarium sits on my desk. It is not discrete at all. In the smaller aquarium it looks quite large and stand out quite ugly. I had to device a lid that perfectly blends the shape of fans and now is much nicer not to mention that it is much quieter. Overall this unit does cool the water perfectly. It of course by the ambien temperature because unlike a refrigeration unit, it depends upon the room temperature. It will, in my experience through usage able to drop the temperature about 2 degrees on low speed and about 6 to 10 degrees on high speed mode. My office stays at around 75 and running them on low keeps 5 gallon desktop tank about 66 degrees and running them on high drops it to 60. At I keep my desk area warm at 78 degrees due to the many computer running in a closed small space and it keeps it cool at around 74~75 and when I switch to high it drops it at most to 72. It is a major gain in my opinion but you will probably kill your Axolotls at anything higher than 70 degrees.

Clips on secure and quite tidy Set up. The hi speed can be a tad loud but the option of a slower speed makes it less noisy
