Rail and stile router bits,Before using this tongue and groove milling cutter, tighten the blade nut and adjust the cutting gap as needed, then lock the nut for safe operation. Start by adjusting the drill bit handle position. Clamping the handle too short may cause bending. For better stability and reduced vibration, clamp the 1/2-inch milling cutter handle at least 0.6 inches from the blade. The blade distance can be fine-tuned by removing the top nut and adding washers—up to two washers (0.02 inches) depending on the requirements.

This router bit set makes making all sorts of joints, especially cabinets with stylish lock miters a breeze to make. Here are some thoughts to consider.Pros:- Half inch shank makes it more stable and sturdy than a quarter inch shank.- Bits look good without any blemishes to the blade and cutter surfaces.- Three bits for the most common wood thicknesses make making cabinets and drawers a breeze.Cons:- None that I've noticed so far, but if any arise, I will note them in an update here.Overall, this is a very useful router bit set for making lock miter joints. All you need is glue to join the pieces together. I do recommend this router bit set.

This 3-piece lock miter router bit set is a nice tool to my woodworking toolkit. With 1/2" shank and three different cutting heights , it offers great versatility for cabinet making, drawers, and other precise joinery tasks. The 45-degree angle creates strong interlocking joints with a snug fit and self-aligning design, which makes glue-ups easier and more accurate. Setup is straightforward, especially on a table router, and the cuts are clean when the wood is properly secured.

These are three sized miter lock joint router bits. Once dialed it (it takes a second) you can replicate perfect miter lock joints at 90 degree angles, even of different lengths or thickness of corresponding boards. These joints are one of the, if not THE, strongest available joints. Also, they just look great. And since you are using the same bit on each side, they fit very much like a glove. Great joint for cabinetry, or even for use as a design element where the strength isn't particularly required. They're well made, the blade ends are sharp, and the ones I've used have been performing quite well so far without losing their edge or chipping. Definitely give it a try...

This set of router bits seems nicely made, but if you're looking for a lock miter bit that will allow you to join 3/4" stock look elsewhere. The description is confusing, but the largest bit is the one that is intended for 3/4" wood, but the length of the actual cutting edge of the miter is not big enough for actual 3/4" wood. The picture in the listing even shows that the middle sized bit will join 3/4" stock. The largest one will work on 3/4" plywood, as the true dimensions of 3/4" plywood is a little less that a true 3/4". The cutting edge on this bit is only 23/32". I was successful on creating a neat miter joint on plywood with this dimension after some trial and error setup. The bits are sharp and produce a clean cut. I have not tried 1/2" stock so I haven't' yet verified if the middle bit even is big enough to do that.

These bits cut nicely, but I suspect they will not hold up over time. The steel is mid-quality, and as is the case with most router bits, you get what you pay for. If you can sharpen them, then you may get more life from them than you would otherwise.

At just under $20, I feel that this set of lock miter bits are a steal. Soon as I got them, I tried them out the cuts are smooth and there's no burning or chatter from the bits. Of course like all lock miter bits. I find these to be a pain to use. Is not due to these particular bits, that's just the reality of using lock miter router bits. Set up, at least for me, is truly a pain. If you're looking to build solid drawers or frames or boxes these are great bits to use if you take the extra time to line everything up correctly. I highly recommend this bit set.

These router bits make a very attractive miter joint especially when joining two species of wood. They auto align, so when setup for edge cutting the surface cutting is already aligned to where it should be. So far, the router edges are sharp, but I’ve only tested on softwoods and have not tried on oak, walnut or maple. As with all bits, alignment and practice is required before using on the finished product. A router table is a requirement with a sturdy locking fence to ensure the working piece is held firmly against the cutting plane. For the price of one bit, with this package, you get three bits which works for most woodworking projects.

The appeal of this design is one setup to make all eight corner cuts of a box/drawer and you wind up with perfectly fitting square corners. It does take some tweaking to get the height and fence settings perfectly dialed in, but that is not unexpected. (The are no directions with the bits, you rely on the pictures on Amazon for setup.) In a test of the middle bit for ¾” stock I used a piece of scrape dimensional fir so I knew the height would be exactly ¾”. I used a slow feed rate so as to not overload the cutting capacity and to get a nice clean cut. Frankly, I was disappointed in the quality of the cut. Even with two passes and a slow feed rate it was a bit ragged. You can clean up the joints with some sandpaper and you do get a very solid box corner once it is glued up. For occasional use it is ok.
