Pull down the child safety switch.

Press and hold down the ignition button, it may take 2 or 3 tries before torch ignites.

To keep the flame on, push the off/continuous flame button to the right.

I have used small butane torches (and large traditional jewelers torches) in my jewelry work for 12 years. This is a decent little torch. It’s pretty hot, the flame control is good and the striker lasts a reasonable amount of time. My last one of these little hotties lasted for 14 months, pretty good for frequent jewelry making use. I would recommend this for small work (up to about 3/4” pieces). Use highly refined butane for best results.

A great torch. I use it for jewelry. Very hot flame and much better than another small torch I have been using.
