Easy to fill however when the lid is off, the water will overflow out the bottom. As soon as the lid gets screwed down tight, the water will not spill over.

I had several issues with this item (feet coming off, rubber stoppers not working, and the small part near the bottom freezing up) but they offered several options to fix the problems I was having. Customer service has been very helpful

This works wonderfully, and I think the people having problems with it or "no way to stop it overflowing" don't understand fluid dynamics, or maybe they recieved their package incomplete. There's a red stopper on the outlet on the bottom that covers a small hole while you fill it from the top. It doesn't overflow if this is in place. Once you fill the tank completely, and screw down the topper lid with the included o-ring in place, then lift the red stopper (now underwater in the tray), it's a pressurized environment and no leaks occur. I have 18 guineas and chickens and got this as an auxiliary waterer, in addition to the three 3-gallon waterers they have, while I am out of state so my husband has less to fuss with. The chickens took to it within minutes and my naturally suspicious guineas will catch on soon. If the three broody guinea hens hatch out successfully, I will buy another. It's perfect.

I bought this for my chickens but my ducks love it too. There are a couple of grips I have about it though. One, the rubber stopper to stop the water flow on the down spout doesn't hold the water good enough while filling up the tank. It leaks quite a bit, even when moved to fully cover the hole. The legs fall off really easily when moving the tank....and when its full....its heavy! So you have to lay it down on its side to retrieve the leg (or legs when multiple fall off at once) and put them back on.Other than that, its great and holds enough water for a good long while. Gets the job done.

I had noticed issues with sturdiness in other reviews when I was looking to purchase this product, but I haven’t had any issues [so far] with that. My biggest issue has been the red plastic piece that is used to cover the hole in the water spigot. It’s constantly falling down and blocking the water hole so no water can come out. The reserve tank is always full and the bowl will be dry. Once I raise the red plastic piece, the water will then come out. As soon as I release the red plastic piece, it slides back down and blocks the water again. It’s kind of annoying to have to keep checking whether that piece is up correctly or if it slid down, blocking the water hole. I will be figuring out something to hold it up, but for now that’s my biggest gripe with this product [and I purchased two].Edited in 2024: These were a waste of money. The legs are flimsy and crack very easily. We purchased two of these and one had a leg snap off within a few months after purchase. The second one ended up getting a huge crack in the bowl and will not hold water. They are not farm grade sturdy. Maybe a small-time fowl owner with a little coop and only a few birds could make this work for a long time, but it was not durable enough for our birds. The geese pretty much knocked it over.

The legs were difficult to snap into place, we were afraid of breaking them. We are using it but if you pick it up one leg falls off.

This has been the best waterer out of various ones I've tried. The 'basin' where the water sits keeps the water well below the spill line, but still has it deep enough for the ducks to take good gulps. This helps prevent a lot of spilled water especially if you are not on level ground as compared to many other waterers I've used. The bottom valve works really well as well compared to others as my geese would destroy the valve on other ones, and this one takes the abuse quite well. The other advantage to the water basin, is that it is more of a pool of water, which works better for the ducks and geese, rather than a small ring of water around the waterer. It has legs that keep it off the ground, which is also nice to help keep the water cleaner. Ducks and geese make a mess of their water, and keeping it above the ground helps the water stay cleaner for a bit longer. The only downside is that I wish the top opening for re-filling was wider so that I could get inside of the unit to wash it out, but the overall product is far better than any other waterer I've used. To be clear, I've got ducks and geese using it.

At first I was excited about my little giant waterer, it looked like it was going to be a perfect solution for me.A few days after initial set up I realized the gasket that moves up or down to cover the hole the water comes out of was defective. It was too lose and would not stay in up place to allow water to flow out properly. This became an issue and it started reverse vacuuming the dirty water (I have 2 ducks and 5 chickens) back up into the dome so the entire dome of water was dirty.I messaged the seller (and sent images) and asked if they could send me a new gasket and I would be happy to do the work to replace the part to have a functioning waterer. They indicated they do not have parts and are unable to do that. Their solution was "bleach the inside of the waterer but this doesn't solve the root issue here of the loose gasket which I replied to them asking about again. They asked me to send the item back for a refund. They refused to send me a label to ship the item back so I had to pay $50 to send a used, defective waterer back to them. After they received it back, they decided they were only going to refund me 50% of the purchase price because the unit was dirty, remember I had already sent them images of the defect and told them what was happening so when they offered a refund they were aware it was dirty. So now I'm out half the cost of the defective unit and all of my shipping cost. After some back and forth with them and not being able to get a proper resolution I filed and AtoZ claim with amazon. Thankfully amazon looks after its customers and was able to mediate finding me in the right and refunded the rest of my money. I'm still out $50 for the shipping but at least the cost of the item came back to me.The fact that they refunded 50% only because the unit isn't resalable is also of concern to me. Besides that they knew that before asking me to send it back, they also knew it was used, so are they reselling used units that come back for return? That seems to be a biosecurity issue to me no?Do yourself a favour and check out the Ukal Canada. Its built well, the gasket is tight and its a fraction of the price!

This thing is junk. We had another style of waterer from the same company but the bowl area was a bit more shallow and it sits directly on the ground. We thought it may be easier for the ducks and turkeys to have one that sits a bit higher and if a little deeper. Our first one shipped to us with no gasket for the lid. We had no idea it was supposed to have a gasket so we filled it and the water just gushed out EVERYWHERE. I did a lot of reading and realized ours was missing the gasket. I reached out to the seller and was told they didn't have any gaskets to send but they would credit me $10. I told them I live in the middle of nowhere and $10 wouldn't even cover my fuel to the store to try and find a suitable gasket. They then offered to send a replacement. The replacement had a gasket so we were back in business!Every single time we move this thing the legs pop off. Since it's got 3 legs, if one pops off the entire waterer just falls over, making a huge mess. Its NOT convenient to fill unless you are at a water source with a hose. The opening is too small to pour a bucket of water into. It is a total pain to clean. We went back to our old waterers.
