I had a non retractable leash for the longest time. I ended up switching and it’s better for me and my pup. He can run ahead and I won’t get pulled!

Update* I am updating my review on this leash. The company reached out to me and automatically sent me a new leash. I received it pretty quickly. Once I received the lease, I charged it and it is working just fine, the light is strong and lights up the backyard at night. I have not had any issues with it bit will review it again when there ha been time time to use it. Thank you to Pettena for making good and being responsive. I was hopeful this leash would be good for ky 10 pound dog. I liked that it had an led light and a smooth retracting leash. I bought it in early December, now it is late February. I don't use it every day. I was walking my pup in the backyard, and suddenly he was off, the leash just broke and he was free. Thank goodness, I wasn't far from the house! I looked it up and I cannot return or get it replaced.

Well, we loved it for the first 10 days, then the switch on the light broke. I thought.. oh well that can happen. Then while waiting for the flexi leash that we bought (which I should have bought in the first place because I used one for 14 years), we kept using this retractable leash and the locking mechanism is now sticking and won't open and close properly. So both the light and the retractable mechanism broke in less than 2 weeks so I'm sending a strong recommendation against purchasing this item.

The light brightness is perfect. I really love that it’s rechargeable. Heavy duty. Very well made. Only con is it makes a very audible zinging noise as the lead extends and retracts. Honestly, not an issue for me at all. Also, good to note, this is sized for fairly large hands. I’m petite so at first I was unsure. But I adjusted quickly. The light is going to add bulk, but it’s worth it.

Most practical item I've bought in a loooong time. Brilliant design, long lasting light, ergonomic handle and great balance & weight. Shut up! just buy it.

We live near a canyon with coyotes. I absolutely must walk my dog on a leash in my own backyard. This one works well and has the bonus of an easy to use light that is built in! The on/off is hard to find at first(under the light) but it was easy to get used to.
