The Aquifer water filtration system effectively reduces contaminants including lead, mercury, chlorine, chloramine and pharmaceuticals in your cold water. While many other systems use coal-based media filters, the aquifer filter uses ground-up coconut shells, making it more . Under-sink installation is fast and easy, and the compact aquifer system fits alongside garbage disposals and household items stored below the sink.

I liked this filtration system so much in my last house that I purchased it again and had it installed in my new home. I was so frustrated with the very slow rate my new Sub Zero refrigerator water dispenser produced. Just getting a glass of water required the fridge to be open for a minute, letting all the cold air out. So the best part about this system for me is that it has a very high flow rate when paired with the right faucet. I paired it to a separate Kohler beverage faucet for my kitchen sink. This way I'm not wasting the filter on dish water or non-consumable use. When I want to fill a water pitcher or a pasta pot, this system really delivers quickly. Replacement filters are expensive but because I am only using it for drinking/cooking water, they last a long time.

Overall the water tastes great, installing and removing is easy. Ideally I wish they lasted longer than 6 months I would love to see at least 1 year and they were a bit cheaper but in the grand scheme of things I am still saving money by doing this instead of buying water bottles

Kohler product works well as all the Kohler products that I have ever used. I use on my beverage faucet and it works great. Filter is easy to change.

The product is a genuine replacement part and far exceeded the performance of a less expensive one I bought before. The generic did not work at all.

As the title states - very easy install & good water flow. Our default pressure is very high, and this filter system only takes the pressure down a bit.

I've tried several different brands and models. Some of these were difficult to install (GE; gasket is too thick, so the lid is too difficult to tighten...even with a water filter wrench) or too expensive to maintain (Body Glove, etc.). THIS water filtration system by Kohler was unbelievably easy to install and relatively inexpensive to replace filters (~$50 each on Amazon). NOTE: I'm hyper careful with anything to do with water/plumbing or electricity. My preference is to hire professionals to touch these aspects of my home. However, I could not afford an expensive plumber. So, I studied YouTube instructional videos and did a lot of online due diligence. This Kohler Aquifer Filtration system seemed to be the right solution. After receiving the filtration system (and stopping by Home Depot to get some connector parts for my cold water shut-off split pipe (...one that fed into an old/unused Insta Hot tap) and also purchasing a Kohler brushed nickel water filter faucet (to replace the Insta Hot faucet), I safely installed this Kohler filtration system. It was relatively easy and straightforward. NOTE: leave yourself a few inches of space beneath the filter so that it can be unscrewed/removed when ready for replacing. I've used this system now for about 3.5 months. It is fabulous. (The reason why I got this filter -- I upgraded by refrigerator to a model that does NOT have any water or ice maker; I got tired of reliability problems. I wanted a long-life, reliable refrigerator (after my Samsung fridge started having problems after only 8 years!). The only potential negative -- my family so enjoys using the Kohler filtered water, that I'll likely need to replace the filter after 5 months (Kohler recommends every 6 months).

I did many hours of research before selecting this filter to replace a Woder filter I had been using. This Kohler model has been tested for NSF/ANSI standards 42, 53, and 401, which few under the sink filters can claim. It was easy to install and the water is clear and tastes good. The flow rate for this filter is a little slow, but not so much that it is a bother. They sell a model (KOHLER 77686-NA) that takes two of these filters to double the flow rate, which I am sure would be adequate for most anyone.

I like Kohler's simple product line - either the 1 or 2 filter model, and the 2 filter model is 2 identical filters in parallel for higher flow. That makes a lot of sense vs sacrificing the quality of your filters. I have used the 1/4 turn to lock cartridges for many years on my fridge, and I like how easy they are to replace, and they don't leak. The two filter model has WAY more flow than my fridge did. I also like that the filters came shrink wrapped. It all looks very professional.I had to have a plumber help install this and a new faucet because I did not have 3/8" supply from the shutoffs. (I had 1/2"). If you have 3/8, this might be a DIY job. Some things I don't like:- inlet/outlet not labeled on the _outside_ of the unit. You have to take the top lid off to see. This confused the plumber for a while. When you're paying $200/hr, make things as simple as possible. I drew an arrow on with a sharpie.- the plastic hoses weren't cut square on the ends. the plumber said it shouldn't be a problem, but I wasn't impressed.
