So to start off three stars bc I got the correct one after the first one I got was for a dodge and I ordered for a ford but got the right one and love it already but I ordered another one for my fathers truck and my own fault for not checking but halfway through the install after already having the plate on the bed and the necessary parts taken off the truck I noticed it didn’t have the nutsert in the bag with it so now having to send this one back not a great experience overall

Not very hard to install. Comes with detailed instructions. I like just lifting the handle and letting the gas strut do the rest. Bonus is opening from being inside the bed and letting it drop.2023 f250. Stx

If you have a truck and actually use it to work out of, this is the most useful addition you can get. Very easy to install and makes opening and closing the truck tail-gate a much easier part of your day.

I bought one of these tailgate support assist mechanisms for my 2008 Chevy 3500 HD tailgate. Its very well built and seems sturdy and strong. I think it should last for sometime.Although the nut assembly was a bit challenging to install. it wasn't assembled as it showed in the instructions, and the pictures were dark and hard to really see what was going on with it. its got washers with a roller bearing that had fallen off mine still left in the bag, i didn't know what to do with it actually as its not mentioned in the instructions. So to insert the nut into the tailgate whole i angled the expansion nut to have it grip to the oversized hole. gradually tightening it and lessening the angel until it was flush and tight with he tailgate. The instructions say 9 revolutions to tighten it. which seems accurate, its nice and tight. and works very well. happy with this purchase so far...
