Ace Hardware was able to cut and program this key for about half the price that the dealership quoted. I was warned that these keys are more fragile, that if you drop them or bang them around the programming could eventually fail. I will update my review should that happen in the future, but today, we are locking and unlocking and starting the vehicle, no problem.

The Honda dealership wanted $263 for a new key. Bought the key fob from Amazon for $13. Spent $15 to get it cut, and found a YouTube video that taught me how to program it. Key works just fine.

Worked great, took it to a locksmith who engraved the key and programmed it with no problem.

I would say - other than the minor gripes from the locksmith about bringing in a "Chinese" key, this worked out perfectly for me.I have a 2007 Honda Rdigeline truck. Forced with a long road trip and a singular key - it occurred to me that I needed a backup just in case. I needed a backup that retained all of the original functions of the locking and security that the OEM key had.As mentioned - the locksmith grumbled a little bit when I brought this key in, but only because it was "possible" to damage their expensive cutting machine.$100 later - and a trip to my truck to plug into the OBD connection, and I was on my way.Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase and it likely saved me about $200 vs going to the dealership. Worth it.

I brought this blank key to ace hardware and they cut me the replacement key for 30 dollars. These are perfect if you accidentally lock your keys in your car. They will not start the car though, without programming the chip specific to your own car. You can't do it yourself. This unfortunately requires a visit to the dealership. I knew this going into this purchase, so I wasn't disappointed. Keep this this replacement key somewhere inconspicuous on your car at all times, such as some easy access point under the car, where you can get it without needing to go under the car. Get some of that extreme strength Velcro. Clean the place your using thoroughly with rubbing alcohol first (and the back of the key) then have at it. I've done this for 15 years and have never, ever lost that key. I've used that key probably about 10 times during that period to unlock the car door when I've locked my keys in there. Recommended.
