Not the easiest to install but with a little trial and error I was able to get it installed pretty quickly. I was worried about how many twisty nobs it had, since they like to vibrate loose as you drive down the road. But not an issue with these nobs. They stay tight. I even used it for three bikes as I drove from Texas to Florida and back. The bikes didn't move an inch. I now have had the frame in the back of my truck for about eight months. Everything is still tight and holds the bikes in place very well. I use it about twice per month, as I hall my bikes camping or to the trailhead. One major note: All my bikes have quick release front tires. For my F150 I do have to remove the front tires, so the gate will close. Plus this adds a lot of stability to the bike itself when you are driving around, as there is not a front tire allowing the bike to roll around. I can't comment how it works with the front tire attached while driving around, since I never tried it that way.

This is a pretty good bike rack. The clamps that engage the rear of the truck bed could be better (they tend to flex upwards and out of alignment when you tighten them down) but it still has done a pretty good job so far on the few trips we've used it for. Strapping the front wheels together and then to the loops on the sides of your bed (if you have them) really helps stabilize the bikes too.

It went together fairly easily once I looked at the video. The written instructions were not clear. The product was listed as fitting full size trucks, so I thought it would fit my husband's Ram 3500. It does not. The Ram boxes narrow the bed slightly. If you have Ram boxes this product will not fit. I gave it 2 stars because it went together well, but couldn't give a review on its use because we were unable to use it.

We installed in the back of a dodge 2500. It works well and is holds our heavy e-bike with some extra stability with a ratchet to secure the front/back portion of the bikes near the tailgate.

This is a thoroughly configurable bike rack with wide enough supports to hold many fat tire bikes (though your tires may not fit in it if they're exceptionally fat). It's wide enough to hold my Trek hardtail 29er. I don't have a balloon tire beach bike and I don't know if it would work with such a bike. I do have an electric bike, and it fits this rack just fine. The rack is solid when installed and will hold your bikes securely. The tire holders can be adjusted side-to-side with a good degree of play available for adjustments. Many truck bed racks like this that hold the back tires of standing bikes have four places for bikes. This rack only has three. That's sufficient for me, but you may need to consider whether you want a four-place rack. Three places makes room for bigger bikes. In the end your choice will depend on how many bikes you want to carry and how big they are.

The first thought I had when this became available on the Amazon Vine program was "Great!-with this rack we can invite our friend to join us!". We've been using a two-bike hitch mount rack for years. This was to be an upgrade. But my enthusiasm has waned. Here are the reasons:First, I'm someone who likes to design and build things in my retirement. My philosophy is "minimum design for maximum performance". This product isn't consistent with that value. In my opinion it is much more complex than it needs to be to accomplish the intended purpose of securing three bikes into the bed of a truck. Too many parts to fiddle with and lose over time, too much work to install for each use, and, frankly, too much hassle to assemble.Second (and I really should have considered this before ordering), it's a real inconvenience to climb in and out of the truck to install the rack and load and unload bikes.Third, using the truck bed to haul bikes renders it incapable of hauling much else without the inconvenience of moving/unloading/re-loading "stuff" to load and unload the bikes. And that's not to mention forgoing the protection and security of my tonneau cover. Finally, it's another thing to store in my garage/workshop that is already at critical mass. With our hitch mount, I back the truck into the garage, lower the hook from my cheap little electric hoist, and lift the rack (bikes and all} into the roof gable until the next use.So now that I've had my rant let me say some nice (and also true) things:The quality of the hardware is good. For example, the clamps that secure the rack to the bed appear to be heavy stainless steel with substantial wing-screws of the same. The adjustable and moving components are well-built. The finishes are good. The overall quality is good.It may be advantageous for heavier electric bikes. It may look cooler (I'm serious) on a cool-looking truck than an old-fashioned rack sticking out the back. You may have a hundred reasons I cant think of.In conclusion, I ordered this rack in a fit of excited delirium, partly because it was "free" to me. But in truth, it wasn't really free. I'll pay 20%-30% ($40-$ 60) in income tax. In addition, I have spent a not-insignificant amount of time handling the product and considering and writing this, essentially negative, review (I prefer shouting accolades). I also have to consider what to do with this after I store it for the six-month waiting period required by my contract with the Amazon Vine program. My point is that I should have more carefully considered this product before ordering. Hopefully someone may benefit from my experience and review.
