This is my first time trying tree fern. Though the product is nice and fluffy, it has a lot of twigs that I had to pick out, so this means I wasted money. That is the only reason I took off one star but...UPDATE: I upgraded to 5 stars. I saw a YT video that stated the twigs allows for aeration and a way for the roots to search for it. I had three Albo cuttings I was hoping to propagate. I mixed this tree fern, and Fluval Stratum then topped with Moss and the roots on one of the Albo's has gone bonkers in a few days.

I thought that the tree feen fiber would have been a bit finer than what it is, should still work for what I wanted to use it for.

I use it to add to potting medium for plants. I needed coarse not finely ground.
