As a content creator this is perfect for my Sony ZV-1. I use it for my sit down videos. The battery last a long time (I haven’t had to change it yet) it’s slim and lightweight. Great value for if you use your camera often. I’ve had no issues with connectivity, zoom in or out etc

I was using the JJC remote with my Sony A7C to turn on the record function. It worked fairly well for about 2 months but then just stopped transmitting. The infrared light doesn't come on at all anymore making me think it's a battery issue, but I've changed out the battery. I agree with another reviewer who said the battery doesn't sit well in the compartment. It rattles around. I emailed the company for assistance but did not get a response. So the device is unusable after just 2 months.

The JJC RMT-P1BT I received is too unreliable to be useful. With my Sony A7C it only remains paired briefly. After anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes it stops working. Then must be manually paired with the camera. I've never had an Bluetooth pairing issue with any other devices. Also, the shutter button occasionally sticks and remains active when pressed.Lastly, it fails to emulate the function of the A7C's shutter button. For example, with the A7C when you press the button fully, it briefly focuses and takes the picture. A long half-press will fully focus but that's optional. With the JJC RMT-P1BT it's always necessary to press and hold the button halfway for a short period before pressing fully to take the shot. This even applies to 100% manual (non-AF) lenses. If you fail to hold the button halfway long enough, when you press fully the camera fails to take the shot. Unless you happen to be close to the camera and are watching the screen closely, you won't notice this and you'll lose the shot. So the JJC RMT-P1BT sets you up for inevitable failures.

I love this thing it paired easily and it works almost flawlessly. Unfortunately it’s flaw is an irritating one because the battery compartment is pretty loose. The cover comes off and the battery seems to come loose, not out but it’ll stop the remote from working. Put a piece of tape over it to fix it and it works pretty well.

Worked at home for a day. Took it outside and it stopped working. I do not recommend this, waste of money.

We bought two of these. One for each Sony ZV-E10 we use for filming. These have been absolutely amazing. When you connect it to your ZV-E10, make sure you use the Remote Connection option in the camera setup and not the Bluetooth connection. I know from experience when I thought these didn't work when I used the Bluetooth connection but found a YouTube video explaining you needed to use the Remote Connection option instead, and then these both worked great. What a life saver to be able to start the camera video running without having to walk over and push the button every time. These also control the zoom and focus if you have Sony lenses. We're using a Sony to Canon lens adapter mount on one of the cameras, and the zoom/focus does not work. But on the ZV-E10 that has the Sony kit lens, the zoom and focus work great from the remote. Would 100% recommend this remote for ZV-E10 and YouTube filming.

I returned my first one and ordered a second one because I thought the first one was defective as the indicator light would not turn on even with the batter inside. After getting the second one go through the same issue and eventually getting it work, I realize the first one may have been just fine. Your indicator light will NOT turn on when you first put the battery in and start clicking buttons. The indicator light will first turn on when you pair it by pressing the F button and the center circle button. Then once it's paired, indicator light will turn on when you push the center button to hit record or take pics. The pairing part is in the instruction but I suspect some people like me become impatient and conclude that the device defective before the pairing process.

I use this on an A7R3 and it works great. Especially useful for long exposures. You can expose on bulb then lock the shutter open until you're done. Half expected it to fall asleep and the camera close the shutter. Way cheaper than the Sony unit.

If you're looking for a remote for your Sony ZV1, you know there aren't a lot of options. At close to $30, this is a pretty spendy remote in my opinion, espcially when you read the reviews and see that most of them have the same issues. I ordered mine at the end of August and by December it just stopped working altogether. I purchased fresh batteries and did nothing. It was spotty and unreliable when it even turned on, which was frustrating, but what do you do? It was hit or miss on if the button pressed would do anything. Sometimes just gently barely touching it would start or stop a recording, other times you had to press really hard. Pretty disappointing

Works great on my a7r iii, with one small caveat. Firstly, I think some of the other negative comments could be “pilot error” as they say. I had no problem pairing (ensure that “Bluetooth Rmt Ctrl” menu item in ON), the battery was not loose, build seems solid enough, BUT the “half-press” to focus is something you just have to get used to. If you quickly press the button, the shutter won’t fire, even in manual focus. Not rocket science, but it takes a small amount of practice. I wish there was a way to turn off/on the half-press, but I haven’t seen it. Or perhaps pushing AF On and the shutter button (as one would do with back button focus on the camera) but this doesn’t work. Perhaps the legit Sony remote works this was as well, I don’t know. When video recording, the light on the remote stays on to tell you the camera is in record mode. This is key, as there is not tally light on the camera itself. Nice. One thing to note is that there can only be one BT connection, so either this remote OR connection to a phone for location info, not BOTH. Not a fault of the remote, it’s just the BT protocol, I guess.Someone was saying that there is no on/off power switch, but if you engage the “lock” slider, the BT signal indicator on the camera goes grey telling me that there is no connection and therefore no battery use IMO.Overall, a solid purchase at half the Sony price.

Easily paired with my Sony A7c and worked like the description! I could have used the Sony Edge app but it's less convenient to pair every single time, plus the remote is smaller and more discreet for self-portraits.
