There are some marks where it was shaped that haven't been buffed out. In general though this is a weighty and nice looking piece especially for the money. We've been using it on a regular basis for normal pens/pencils because we like it so well. Good buy!

This is a sturdy brush holder however, the brushes slide off of it constantly.

Love this. I always lost track of my brushes when doing watercolors. No more. This is the answer.

I do calligraphy and wanted to use this to rest my pens on when I need to take a break while writing. It’s much heavier than I expected so it actually holds my pens without falling over! I’m happy it will hold multiples. This would also be a very nice tool with paintbrushes. Well worth the money!

I use this to hold my glass dip pens while I'm using them. It works for the most part. Because it's smooth wood, if not placed carefully the pens will slide out, and I place a paper towel underneath the brush holder so it doesn't slide around on my desk. I haven't used it for a paint brush, I don't know if it would work well for what it was made for, but I'm happy.
