My pitbull kept chewing on the leash. I needed a chew proof leash. The chain on the leash keeps him from chewing it up. The leash is very strong.

I love the chain to help with reducing the teething on the lease, the locking mechanism has become stuck a few times, yesterday 5/21/24 it came loose, gratefully I was standing in front of my door and my Rudy wasn't aware it had come a loose either until I unlocked the door. Although it sticks sometimes when hooking on to the harness and came aloose yesterday, I really like this product and I like the extended distance it provides to the lease. Definitely worth the buy to help reduce the babies from chewing through it.

I miacalculated when ordering this leash for my 22lb pomsky because its a bit heavy and big for him. However the leash is very good quality and you can see that its build to last and will work perfectly for a larger dog. It has a metal chain which is a very well thought out feature because it prevents the dog from chewing on it. Most dogs owners know what a pain it is to keep buying new leashes because of that. I even had some cheaper quality ones that ripped on their own because the rope was so thin. If I had a bully or just a larger dog I would definitely use this leash.

I bought this March 2021. Looks great and seemed to work great. Handle is falling apart and stopped retracting and it’s not even a year old. I bought one from Harbor Freight cheaper and more durable. Too bad it was cute with a chain lead.

Honestly, I am not a person that takes the time to write a review. If I buy a product and it is less than great, I just take it as a lesson learned. However, tonight, we took our dogs on a walk with these leashes that we have had for a month. Midway through our walk, one of the leashes broke. Now, understand we have 14 pound Havaneses. They aren't THAT strong. So, we take the broken leash and tie it to the the other leash, just so we can make it home with both dogs. As we are about 200 feet from our home, the 2nd leash breaks. Thank goodness our dogs were tired, or we would have spent the next hour chasing them down. These are leashes that came up when I was searching strong leashes. So disappointed with the quality of these. Over my 6 years of dog ownership, I have bought a number of leashes. These are the absolute worst that I have ever purchased. Our dogs didn't bite the leashes, there was no reason for them to snap the way they did. Don't buy these!

So our puppy chewed through other retractable leashes so this chain has been a lifesaver. We aren’t using the leash it came with because it’s super chunky and heavy. Would be fine for a larger dog but for our small one it was too much. But it was worth the purchase to have the chain!! No more leash chewing! Yahoo!
