This is much different than the typical horse blankets that I am used to. It feels very much like a set of Pajamas but just made into the shape of a horse blanket. It lacks any of the normal waterproofness of regular blankets so manure will get it stained if your horse lays down in it. As well as bedding and hay and loose hair and mud will stick to it, so it will need frequent washing. In terms of warmth this is on the very light end, suitable from 40F ( 5 C) to 5 F (-15 C) depending on how thick your horse's hair is. It really just slightly takes the chill out of the air exactly like wearing a sweater, however it does not act as a terribly good wind break, so wind chill is vastly more noticeable with this than with a normal blanket. Ultimately my opinion is that this is only really suitable for a horse living in very clean conditions and indoors away from strong cold winds. It is very comfortable though, so if you live in very mild winters and your horse lives a very cleanly life with most of the time spent indoors, then this might be a good option, but for most horses this won't be durable enough for them, and if it gets wet from rain or snow or mud it's going to just be cold. Alternatively if you ever wanted to cool down a hot horse than this could be soaked in cold water and thrown over them to help them cool off.
