About a year ago (2020) I bought two Honeywell 7700 facepieces and some accessories,including a backpack hose set, from various sources.[They were hard to get at the time and Amazon could not supply what I wanted.]I am using 7580P100 (HEPA) filters on both.I put the filters directly on one facepiece and attached this hose set to the other one.Contrary to what another reviewer said, the hoses Do Not make breathing easier,but they also don't make it more difficult.Having directly A-B compared them, I would say that the effort requiredfor both arrangements (with new filters) is exactly equal.Putting the filters or cartridges behind your back can extend their useful life considerablybecause they will not be so close to the origin of the hazard.This is especially true if you are painting or using a blaster.Welders will appreciate easier fitting of the respirator under a helmet.You may be able to find a Much better deal if you shop around a bit.I paid just a little more than half of Amazon's current price for the BP1002.Highly recommended if you have a use for it ---and/or a bit of a fetish.

This thing makes it easier to draw air into the mask, as it gives air time to pressurize in the tube again while you exhale, ensuring a full draw without as much 'suction' from pulling it through the filters directly. And it keeps the air inflow away from whatever you are working on, making the filters last longer overall. (it's actual stated design purpose). Handy bit of kit.

I have to admit, i fell for it, and like a dummy i fell for the 'assembly' part of the description which is misleading. I bought 2 of these 'assemblies' which i had assumed from the picture were the complete units with face mask and filters. But i was wrong, it only comes with the hose section, which means i still need to buy a compatible set of masks and filters.I will give it 2 stars because the product is actually good, and the price for just the hoses is better than others, but it could have been 5 stars if they were not so misleading with the damn picture and description.
