I purchased this classic and simple bow tie for my son to wear to an event. I was so pleased with the quality of this tie for the value that I bought four more for our school's quartet competitions. With repeated wear, they have held up well and look great! Now, if I can only get these young men to learn how to tie their own bow ties!

Bought this for my dad to wear at my niece's wedding and he looked SHARP! It was fun to tie it for him but the hint of fuschia was just the right amount of color to match my mom's dress.Recommend this for sure!

First review posted April 26th....I have tied my own bow ties for several years [since before the internet and you tube videos], in which a slider allows you to tighten the tie tight. But this one came unexpectedly with a plastic T which fit into a pre-made slot in the material as a way to size the tie. Unfortunately, I could not see a way to tighten the tie after it was knotted without eyes in the back of my head. I threw it away. Addendum...The tie would work fine if you have a servant to tighten it for you.Updated review posted April 30th...Well, I have egg on my face. After a very guilty conscience I went to several youtube videos and feel due humblance for my previous review. One should first place the T into the slit that is marked as the size of the shirt collar (e.g. 15 1/2 in my case).I discovered that the way to snug the bow tie around the neck is to tighten the first simple half knot you make around your neck so the thin part of the tie is comfortably snug. You then proceed with the more tricky part to tie the bow itself.The bow has four wings, 2 flat wings at the end of the material, and then two folded wings. one close to the neck, the other facing the admiring public. To tighten the knot of the bow you can slowly lengthen the folded wing closest to your neck and the knot slowly becomes secure. (Interestingly, this is the reverse of tying a regular neck tie, where you first form the knot and then slide it up to tighten it around your neck. Or at least, that's the way I have done it since the Nixon Presidency).The videos of tying the tie around a manikin are not really appropriate, since you are the manikin. These manakin videos would be helpful for someone who ties your tie for you.In summary, any fault with the tie can be traced to my foolishness, and not the product. The tie is beautiful for the price I think. Others can probably tie it much better than I did, and I have posted a photo as a case study.
