These are machined, underside of the top/disc. If not machined properly or overly nicked or seated, it will be, or was for me - impossible to get a complete Bell-shape.Aside from NOT attempting to fix that - I move, adjusted, re-positioned, changed pressure, etc., and it would just not form a complete Bell shape or any symmetrical pattern at the extremes of pressure other than unusable very low pressure - not it's purpose to produce a 3 inch bell.Upon looking closely my only determination for the issue was/could be - poor seating, not machined w/QA and a few "nicks" on the blade-edge as I call it - which would effect the shape, etc. - So, for me, I'll be avoiding these.And, fyi, and ironic, a very inexpensive plastic one, with waterproof tape to my 1/2" piping - did the job, but required a machined brass Nozzle for this application. So, we went with another pattern - very frustrating. I guess it is the luck of the draw, regardless of price.I hope that helps someone. Maybe, order several and keep what works?, would be my suggestion - we ran out of time for this project and so it went.
