Ok, let me first start off by saying that I was super hopeful about this project, converting my bushings in the front wheels of my John Deere LA105 lawn tractor to the HD Switch bearing conversion. I will try to "nutshell" this and get to the point. I had purchased new front wheels and tires for the lawn tractor and thought this would be the perfect time to install the bearings. I removed the factory bushings and started my install of the bearings. Upon initial inspection of the HD Switch bearings kit, everything APPEARED to be good quality. I used a 1-1/8" socket to drive the bearings into the hub, this is the size that fit perfect on the outer race of the bearing. It took a few taps from the hammer on the socket to drive the bearings into the hub. After seating the bearings I noticed that the edges of 3 of the bearings had cracked and broke away from the outer race. I did not "gorilla smack" the bearings at all to seat them, just moderate tapping to get them seated. The metal appears to be very brittle and has me wondering how they are going to hold up under work loads in the yard. Hindsight, yeah, bearings would be nice and a good idea but when it comes time to service the hubs again, I will just go back to the O.E. factory bushings. With proper lubrication and maintenance, bushings should last another 9 years like my first set did. Please note, my original bushings lasted 9 years mowing 1 acre every week of the spring & summer and using tractor to pull a cart and tree limbs. Bushings are perfectly fine when serviced regularly. Lesson learned. I will edit this review and let you all know how long the HD Switch bearings last, especially being that the bearings can't be greased or serviced. This is my review, your results may vary.

Product delivered on time. Fit hub & axle perfectly. Sealed & no grease leakage. Looked very well made. Time will tell if they hold up. I think they will. Grease seal metal, not rubber, gives me more confidence. Not having to grease the wheel anymore is a plus. Zert was hard to reach & now it is just a dust plug. Bought tractor 2008. Many repairs were done over the years, but all of them are expected with use. Sure hope I don't have to mess with the front wheels again. I am 77, so I think it is likely that they will last a lifetime. Thanks.

I just recently serviced my mower and noticed that it has a lot of play in the steering and wheels a little bit of times and looking at it and I found out that the bushings for completely worn out I went online and found these and thought I would give them a try as I already knew that my spindles had been chewed up a slight bit from the wear and tear of the bushings I didn’t think this kit to work at first as it was hard for me to get the one side on but that was completely due to the fact that there was a flare going around the whole spindle where I have been worn out from the bushings once I grounded a little bit of it away it was so simple to put this kit together and on the mower now it has zero play in the wheels and steering is a lot sharper well worth the money it would cost probably 200 bucks to take it to a shop and have this done when you can do it yourself with very basic tools for free

Having replaced the bushings previously (and continued the wear on the spindles), new spindles were also a part of this exercise. This seller provided every piece needed for proper installation. The bearings fit the wheels perfectly. The only problem was the spindles came with a heavy coat of black paint which prevented the bearings from sliding on the spindle. Took about two hours to clean the paint from the spindles. The bearings fit a 3/4" shaft and ultimately fit the spindles. The seller found a niche and filled it well.

Nice kit for the money and so far seems to work well on my L110 John Deere. My only concern was the washers that are supplied are very thin so I reused original washers.
