Each case starts with sturdy 3/8" black laminated plywood walls. Then heavy-duty stackable ball corners guards are installed along with recessed latches and handles. The problem with this beautiful Flight case, is it is 100% ineffective for protecting a guitar's headstock because the neck valley is too shallow. The first assumption would be that the case is built on general dimensions to work with most guitars. I personally have 17 guitars... 5 Strats, SG, Les Paul, 355, Alvarez 6 string bass, Westone, Ibanez RG, DeAngelico, ... Guess what? None of the guitars worked. This case would not work to successfully protect the guitar because the headstock is not floating in the case and therefore; if dropped, the guitar's headstock would snap off because the entire weight of the guitar would be assumed by the weakest part of the guitar... It therefore was returned as "DEFECTIVE".

Way to heavy without a guitar plus interior just cut and glued velvet on form, but it will keep your instrument safe built like a tank.

40 lb case (empty) with well made latches and corners. Compartment for Accessories did not have a closure so it was not as advertised. Aluminum edges are easily damaged, so I do not recommend shipping outside of a box.

Your guitar will die in this case. The case will surely survive, but your guitar will not. Plenty of space for activities though!

Love this road case ! I made a Van Halen road case for it Kramer 5150 hybrid . Great case got the money.
