This was purchased as a (surprise) birthday present for my boyfriend. He was very excited and looked really happy when he saw what was in the package. He's been using this Javapress everyday since received it, no complaints so far. I have the Microlite Javapress and I love it, this product line is awesome.

This is a small travel size French press. It's easy to clean and wash. All parts are accessible with the exception of the inner container with the filter would need small hands or a bottle brush to clean inside. The outer sleeve is cloth can be washed I'd imagine but I'd just hand wash it. It does a good job insulating hands from the hot water/coffee.Do understand this is a FRENCH PRESS SYSTEM. You must have access to hot water/boiling water for this to work. I am still fiddling with the water/coffee ratio for strength of flavor. But it is easy to use (I do recommend pushing the filter portion down slowly to prevent the grounds from sliding by on the outside) and simple clean up. I'd say good for camping or office use.

Making your morning coffee this way is worth the little bit of extra effort to learn to use it right. Read the instructions and don't force it, and it creates a perfect leak-proof seal and your personal serving of French-press coffee will spoil you for anything second rate. It's all I've used, daily for years, and it's still in perfect brewing condition.

I have several of these. They last. Unlike some other French Press travel mugs, it's easy to add creamer and sugar after the coffee has been made. I have used others where you have to get those additions through the drink portal. Coffee stays nice and warm, maybe not for as long as a stainless steel mug, but plenty warm for getting to work or to have handy while doing tasks. I purchased this as a gift for another coffee lover. I haven't tried it but it could be used with loose tea as well.

This thing is a lifesaver. I take it to school with some grounds so I can make fresh coffee on the go and people freak out. People are constantly in awe of it. It's super durable, easy to clean, and allows for adding cream or whatever after brewing. Only negative is it is absolutely not spill proof. It has vents on the top which allows air to escape while pressing plunger and these also allow hot coffee to escape if the thing is barely tipped over. This is a curious design flaw as it seems to be marketed to active, outdoorsy types. Also, the "hook" or plastic loop seems as though it's intended for clipping onto a bag for easy carrying though this is impossible when full of brewed coffee due to the aforementioned tendency to spill, and once the mug is well used, carrying it this way, even while empty causes the outside cylinder to slip away from the inside one. Won't tolerate too much jostling around. This is not a huge problem for me as I carry it in a bottle holder in my backpack.

I admit I'm a coffee snob. I like mine freshly ground, hot, rich and preferably pressed. These mugs allow me to indulge in great coffee when camping. There is a bit of technique involved in using this mug, but once you master it, they work great. I made a nice hot 16oz cup for breakfast and then make another to use for iced coffee in the afternoon. I use two coffee measures of a bold Starbucks blend to get a good, strong coffee. You take the inner cylinder out, secure the lid to it tightly, but open the drinking spout. Out your coffee into the insulated base, slowly pour in your hot water leaving about 3/4 inch (or more if you want to add cream - about half full for iced coffee), stir and out the cylinder in just far enough to cover the hot liquid. Let the coffee steep for about 4 minutes, then very, very slowly (with to spout still open) press down the cylinder being careful to not force the coffee up between the cylinder & base. Once it's pressed all the way down, enjoy!! Works perfectly every time. The only issues I've had were early on when I was pressing it too quickly. Good things come to those who wait! Enjoy! ☕️

Ordered it, but did not receive, so I bought it at a retail location. Not thrilled with it - if you use too much coffee grounds, it makes it impossible to fully press down, making it impossible to drink without it spilling. I like my coffee strong - had hoped to have this replace my GSI 32oz French Press + coffee mug. But, it doesn't work for me. I already use a very strong roast, so reducing the amount of coffee used would only make substandard coffee for me.

This is by far the best travel press that I have used. No grit or grounds in your drink. Easy to use and makes a lovely coffee and keeps it warm for an hour easy. Ignore other reviews, of course this will leak if you throw it in your bag! It's a Java press! Use it correctly and you will not be disappointed!!
