I found an oil leak I didn’t know about. The generator would only run for about 10 to 30 seconds. I found the original pressure switch was leaking. Not bad being 30 years old. This switch is perfect R/R. No leaks, generator runs great. Order a second one for emergency repairs.

Old Craftsman generator let me down; started but did not stay running. Classic 'oil switch' symptom. Ordered this replacement; came on time, fit into place, works correctly.

Much less expensive than a factory part but it looks the same as my old one. Easy to install and it arrived much soon than expected.

After reading a few reviews about generic oil pressure sending switches I decided to go with the name brand Generac. The generics I read about sometimes leaked oil. Hopefully for a few dollars more I won't have that problem. The Amazon price was cheaper than local prices so I am happy about that. This sending unit is easy to install once you have the correct socket to do the job. The one that fits this is a deep well 1 1/16" and all sockets of that size are not created equal; make sure you have a snug fit as to not round off the edges. I will say that I am not impressed with the light weight shiny metal that joins the plastic switch together and it appears to be cheap material that can be easily damaged when removing or installing it. With alll that said I am happy at this point that it was easy to install, works as it should and isn't leaking. I would buy it again if needed. I gave only four stars because of the cheap metal band that crimps it together and also serves as the bolt that the socket fits over.
