Today I'm reviewing the Furtalk wide brim sun hat. I received the hat, it was well packaged inside an Amazon box with a flat Furtalk box inside that. The hat was folded in half inside the Furtalk box, this caused creases on each side. Furtalk instructions stated to iron hat on low before wear. I don't iron, I laid the hat flat on the brim for 24 hours that helped this creasing. The hat functions as intended to protect against sun and the headband and chin strap can be adjusted which is very thoughtful. The fit is pretty nice and should fit most any size head just fine. This is a comfortable hat with extra air vents for allowing heat to escape, that's also very thoughtful in design. The quality isn't the best bur certainly not the worst and I feel is appropriate for it's price point. The weight is very light, should work out well for those long hot days outdoors. Only reason for four stars instead of five is I can't get the brim to hold a shape. I like a wide brim hat that will hold somewhat of a western style rim shape, this hat not so much. I still think this would make a good beater hat for work or sporting activities where function over fashion is the goal. Thanks for reading my review.

This FURTALK Sun Hat is such good quality, I’m going to save it for my husband to wear on special occasions. Then he won’t have to wear his mangy old booney hat on public outings with the family, ha. I ordered the khaki hat, which is a nice tan color, perfect for wearing in the desert. The top of the hat is made of lightweight sturdy nylon with a mesh layer on the inside. Screened vents between the mesh interior and the nylon exterior provide air flow while ensuring complete sun protection. A moisture-wicking sweatband helps keep your head cool. This hat has a nice wide brim to keep the noonday sun off your face, and you can pull it down over your eyes. You can also snap the flexible brim up on one side or two sides. My husband has a big head and this hat has a generously sized crown which fits him fine as is. I have big hair and it fits me, too. If you have a smaller head, the hat has an adjustable pull string for tightening it.You can tell a quality hat by how many rows of stitching it has around the brim. There should be multiple stitches where the brim fabric is attached to the stiffer lining material to make sure it doesn't pucker up. We used to swear by Columbia Booney hats until they started skimping on quality. They don’t even bother putting any stitching around the brim anymore, and the last one we got puckered up. But this FURTALK hat has 11 rows of stitches around the brim! There is a chin strap lanyard that can be adjusted to hold the hat on in high winds so it won’t blow off. The nylon material repels water, which is useful in a light rain. The hat is easily rollable or foldable for stuffing compactly into a pocket or backpack. This hat would be even better if it had a neck flap in the back, but for what it is, it’s a great hat. And it has better stitching than Columbia which says a lot! It’s impeccably packaged, too, so it would be a great gift!

I needed a hat for an upcoming trip overseas to an area with high UV, and this appears to be exactly what I was looking for. The grey color makes any wrinkles less obvious, so it should pack nicely, and the elastic band for fit adjustment is on the outside (unlike some other options) so it can actually be tightened down while wearing it. 100% nylon means it's both light and likely pretty durable - though I haven't shown it much abuse yet. In all, I'm happy with it.

This review is an initial impression upon unpacking the hat. I will update the review after my husband wears it on an upcoming vacation. The hat is very thick, quality material. The snaps are thick and clasp firm- they also pull apart without ripping or pulling too hard on the fabric. My husband has a 7 3/4" hat size and this hat fit hit without using the headband drawstring cord. So, if you have a larger head size than that, take note. I have an average female head size and wear medium size hats, and I had room in the hat and used the drawstring cord. The drawstring is great because it doesn't change the shape of the hat, it just cinches the headband. The neck strap has a good, quality cord and the circular vent screens are helpful to allow hot air to escape. They color khaki was the perfect neutral to coordinate with brown, black, navy, and olive shorts (important to him, lol). The interior band looks like it will absorb perspiration nicely. It also came packed completely flat with a detailed instruction card how to easily reshape the hat into your desired shape. I would absolutely pay full price for this hat and I expect after vacation we will be buying a second one in an additional color.

I ordered the FURTALK Sun Hats for Men Fishing Hat UPF 80+ Foldable Wide Brim Outdoor Hiking Beach Summer Hats in khakiThis hat is well made and is water repellent (I tested). It is very comfortable fabric. It does a pretty good job of shielding out the sun.The hat comes folded in a box and the instructions.Say that you should iron it before wearing it (to get out the fold and wrinkles). My hat came folded along the scene that runs on each side and it's barely noticeable. The wrinkles on my hat weren't very noticeable either but I may end up ironing it anyway.I have a size 58 head and the inside circumference fit well. I think if you have a very large head over size 60 then it may fit too tight for you, but it's worth a try.The belt loop on the top of the hat on the outside and that has the snap on it is just a decorative belt loop. Don't try and unsnap it. The snap, of course, is for snapping the brim to the top of the hat.This hat has two 1/2 inch islet style vents on each side. These vents would probably be more effective if the come was an inch taller. The dome is 3.5 inches tall and fits pretty tight to the top of my head. Another inch taller and air could circulate.The price for this hat is around the average price of competitors.Overall, 4 stars from me for now.
