Great product, and very easy to install. I highly recommend this product.

Worked very well inside shower. Used to fill gap behind 3/8 thick tiles. Worked well with 1/8 groute lines. Saved at least one tube of silicone caulk. Backer is easy to snap with hands and stretches into tight spaces.

Arrived on time. Does a good job to fill gaps prior to caulking. Easy to cut and install. Priced well, right size, working well

I got this in May '24 and finally got around to using it. Very inferior product compared to the 100' of backer rod I previously used. I'm using this under baseboard, over slick tile, installing with a non sharp putty knife. My first wall, it was shredding constantly, bits of it breaking off with the least resistance. By the time I started on the 2nd wall, I realized I could just pull this rod in pieces with my fingers, I didn't even need to use scissors to cut! I'm a 70-year old woman, I think pasta has a higher tensile strength. Poor quality and yeah, I got a lot of it.

I bought this to put down in the crack left by a cut in new cement. I covered it with a cement caulk but this saved a lot of money to put this down in the crack first!

1/4 inch backer rod is hard to find locally. This was good stuff, I used it to fill concrete control cracks before sealing . Easy to work with and I like the slight stretching it does for installation .

I needed black 1/4" backer rod so I ordered some of this as the other stuff on Amazon is all grey. The other backer rod I had was pure (close cell) foam. I didn't think it would make a big difference, but this "foam rubber" backer rod is a lot more dense and harder to work with/fit if your gap is less than 1/4". I have a log home and I was filling the wood cracks on the outside which vary in length and diameter. The (actual) closed cell foam backer rod can easily fit in slightly smaller gaps, but the rubber backer rod is a struggle if the gap is even a little bit less than 1/4". Ultimately it works, but it's a lot more work to get in there. The product seems like a quality/well made product otherwise and if you need something for a gap that is exactly 1/4" then this product should work well. Actual foam backer rod is much easier to use for areas you are filling that have variable widths though.

This was more like weatherstripping than backer rod
