This eyecup is made entirely of very hard plastic whereas the OEM version uses a softer material for the outer portion. Because of this, it is not comfortable in use. This one was very difficult to install because it fits so tightly, so it is unlikely to come off accidentally. But this one fits so tightly that I worry it could damage the EVF when removed. I plan to order a different eyecup that is made of a softer material.

I do like that it's a tight fit, but the fitment is slightly off. Barely noticeable but it doesn't sit completely level.

I purchased this eyepiece for my A6000 as an alternative to the OEM one. Well, I WASTED my time and money. First, it is hard plastic and it maintains a poor grip on the camera. The eyepiece kept falling off with minor touching. Finally, the eyepiece broke and obviously would not stay on anymore. Cheap JUNK.

Update: broke just over a month after buying it. Reducing rating.Pros: snaps on tighter than the original, which was lost in regular use. Low cost. Feels durable.Cons: not as soft or quite as wide as original.It works well enough.

This fit on my Sony a6500 perfectly. The eye protector is not soft and pliable. It is strong and very sturdy. I received my camera without the eye price so I can't compare it, however it is exactly what I needed.
